have had it for a month and i love it, love it, love it!!

I read some threads in this forum's about Roomba, got interested, did some research and then bit the bullet and bought a new 535 model about a month ago. Wow! My life and floors have changed for the better. I totally LOVE it. I hate sweeping and vacuuming every darned day. Now, Roomba sweeps my large kitchen every morning, getting all the nooks and crannies, and under the toe kicks in the ktchen. This is no small job being a home to a "herd" of boxer dogs in the rainy Pacific Northwest. After cleaning the kitchen, the Roomba then travels past it's LightHouse and vacuums my family room for a good 45 minutes and then returns to its charging base. The dogs ignore it, which totally amazes me, but they've never been interested in it. I had been concerned that they would need to learn not to chase it, but no so.

I just wanted to thank those of you who have written here about it, giving me confidence to buy one. I now have a cleaner house and time to do more fun things!

I've seen both Rhoomba and Scooba on TV.. Anybody that owns one or both have an opinion? I saw Rhoomba in Linens and Things and it was over $300. That's a lot of money.

I bought a Roomba 535 model through Home Shopping Network's website. The delivery was FREE, and their price is $249. And they have a 30-day no hassle return policy if you don't like it.

Since I was a first time buyer at HSN, I used a coupon that I found on the internet. The coupon code is C56574 - and it's valid for 15% off your entire purchase if you are a first time shopper at HSN.com. I enterd the code at the checkout, and sure enough it worked. HSN also offers a two year warranty BEYOND the manufacturer's warranty (making 3 years of coverage) for about $30. So it's possible to get a new model Roomba for $211 delivered, or under $250 with a 3-year warranty.

I have to tell you, I sat here this morning and ATE 1/2 a TJ Belgium Dark Chocolate Bar that Maggie sent while doing some computer work. YUMMY oh quite Yummy. I have to tell you Abby "Had to have a taste" I told her you're not going to like it. She didn't of course.... not sure if she really didn't or the power of my mind game worked. BECAUSE I know she'd clean me out if she did. OK onto those Alfresco Hanging Jars that some of you have mentioned. So neat! They remind me of pint size jelly or canning jars. These jars are tinted green glass they also reminds me of our West Virginia Hand Blown Green Glass (anyone know what I am talking about?).... anyway The jars have a wire attached for "hanging" purposes. There were no instructions so...... Here are my thoughts of uses... Please inform me if I am off base? 1. Growing herbs in my kitchen window hanging down from the ceiling. 2. Hang them from a corner of ceiling at different lengths with vines coming from them. 3. Add candles and hang from those iron hooks coming up my walk way? Light them or use solar candles for evening parties or guest? Not sure how I am going to use them yet. Feel free to offer any suggestions? Thanks Bunches Stacey

I could add a glass top, which may have the added benefit of keeping the kids from sitting on it. It's completely sturdy and level unless you put too much weight on a certain spot, then it tips over. As you face the chair, to the right is a fireplace. I tried to leave enough space to have access to the books while still incorporating the chair in the rest of the living area. I'll try dilly's idea of pulling the chair way forward into the main seating area. The wall lamp was a new addition that I never have really liked in that space, so I don't mind getting rid of it. I have a tall ficus I could try out for greenery. I swear I kill anything green, so I never have plants in the house. I'll also move the pic down a bit. As far as other accessories, DH does make a mean martini! Here are some older pics of the room. It's still really bare and stark. I've been looking for the perfect rug since we moved in, so everything else is on hold. I love that pillow! The orange scares me, but it's just a little splash. Ditto sas95. We had seriously looked at Quartz products and I was drawn to honed finishes. The fabricator/Stone yard told us that many quartz makers are no longer doing honed finishes, or very little because they are harder to maintain and were not holding up well. We ended up going with a granite, so it was a moot point for us and I can't share any personal experiences.

My mom, who is physically challenged and uses both a walker and wheelchair, has both the Roomba and the Scooba. She LOVES them. Her floors are sparkling all the time. I was skeptical when she first told me that she was getting them but after seeing them in action, they work wonderfully for her. She has tons of furniture and antiques and both the Roomba and Scooba get under everything. I haven't bought either yet-- just because I keep thinking of other things to use the money on. One of these days .....
