Dollbaby's 4th of July & Buffet Vignette (pic heavy)

Happy 4th of July, everyone! Hope you've had a great weekend & enjoyed the time w/family or friends! God Bless those who serve to keep our freedom!

Today I stayed indoors some & finally had some quality time with Dollbaby! She was a bit miffed since she was still dressed in her Spring outfit!

So here she is with her summer/July 4th placesetting:

Those little ceramic shoes are new & she wanted them used on her tray for July 4th...well, they're 'blue' & they have a RW&B ribbon! LOL! DH & I camped last month in So IA & we made a day trip to Pella...a beautiful Dutch town...here's a close-up of the Dutch shoes:

The little Americana doll she is holding was a clearance find at HLobby yrs. ago.

Here's a full view...everything in Dollbaby's vignette are TS finds! (thanks to the 'Enablers R Us' on this forum!)

Since I did get some new dishes for everyday use (that I've previously shared on here), I decided to use the pitcher & a 'canape' plate (never heard of that term before)...here's the Wikipedia def: A canapÃÂ© is a small, prepared and usually decorative food, held in the fingers and often eaten in one bite.

The striped star bowl is an old TS find some time ago, too.

And, here's a basket of napkins I fixed up for the right side of the buffet...yup, used those GS 'dragonfly' rings!

...and some little faux tealights in ceramic candleholders & pottery bowl. Here's the full view...I did buy a new runner awhile back:

And the beautiful shelf above the buffet (made by DH) that I've shared many times on our forum has an old 'The Flag' print (from my Mom) & just a fav print of a little girl that I bought some yrs ago...candlestick, bird & teapot are more TS or GS finds!

Very Impressive. I have always loved the way you decorate dollbaby and her highchair tray. I love your buffet and shelf too. The new dishes are great and the flag pics really set the scene for the 4th. TFS Janet

Dollbaby looks pretty happy all spiffied up for the 4th!
Cute little Americana doll and tablescape you put together for her. I always love seeing her adorable accessories.
I love the vignettes on your buffet and shelf. I like the clean lines of the white striped pitcher and other pieces and love the vintage look of the flag picture and little girl with the flag.. That display seems so nostalgic to me and looks so nice on your shelf.
Glad you and Dollbaby got to play indoors today...love what you did.

Thanks for your gracious comments, Holiday-ers! candy...yup, I'm hooked on "teapots" now, too (not "teakettles," as I said)...love the 'Enablers R Us' group here! Marylee & Frou & PM...my Mom has to be smilin' down on me about dressin' Babydoll!(& she does have cute toes & fingers...even tho they feel like plastic. I've enjoyed decorating w/her so much since coming to this Forum...will pass on to DH shelf compliments. The ceramic baby chicks I got after Spring sale at a local specialty consignment shop. punk...I bought that column (table post or whatever) for $10 at another CShop ...it was stained that color & my Mother Hen is wood from HLobby...had her for a few yrs now & seemed a perfect match! There is a nail sticking in the column for candles. jane & pat & nana...those brown bunnies called to me...I bought them over 2 or 3 yrs at another specialty CS...I leave them out for summer usually, too. Ever since I've seen party-music's wonderful hand-made baskets I am on the outlook for them! LOL...hope to see some more BOP pics...SMILING is good! Thanks again, everyone! Thanks, Holiday-ers...for all your kind comments...I am very slow this holiday season ... the virus bugs have hit around here & takes time to kick 'em...soon, I hope. punk ... the walnut/stained glass hanging lamp is handmade by the original carpenter that made the buffet & table. We were luck enough back in 1985 @ my hubby's gr'parents estate sale to buy the buffet/table & brought it home strapped to the top of our camper...can ya believe that! Anyway, the light was hanging in my hubby's Dad & Mom's cabin in Minnesota & he gave it to us since it originally was made w/table/buffet. Isn't that just cool! The carpenter was Larry's gr'ma's brother-in-law & he died in 1938@ the young age of 44(born 1894) ... so all of this was handmade sometime in his married life to my hubby's gr'ma's sister. I have a handwritten letter from this sister back in 1985 telling us the history ... she was pretty old back then & shared it with us. Ok, I've rattled on ... the runner is new last yr from TJMaxx ... can get bargains @that store! I am looking forward to decorating that lil' vine tree some for Summer, too. :-) Thanks again, friends. Ahhh, thank you holiday-ers! I've been seeing all the decor going on here & wanted to do a little Fall stuff myself! Vacation was great, thanks everyone! OA, Candy, Jane...I planted apple gourds one season & 4 of them grew! Let them dry over winter & then painted 3 & DH drilled a hole for a bright red birdhouse that hangs in the pine trees in my Secret Garden...it's still there (3 summers now!) Karen, punk, Jane & luvs...my Mom would be very happy to know that I am now obsessed with Dollbaby! Thanks to all you "Enablers R Us" I change her duds & high chair tray quite frequently! Thanks for your sweet comments! I did get her another $2 TS jumper (red & white checked) with tiny apples on it...in the wash now...another time. LOL! First day of Fall is coming up this week...Wed., Sept. 22nd! (smartypants here, I Googled it!) ...so will be adding more. Thanks for your comments! Jeanne S. Thanks jane, candy, punk & nana ... I enjoy changing things out ...& it's funny about that squirrel...must be an 'Enabler' thing (punk)in the back of my mind! That squirrel called to me & here you have it, Jane! I know I've seen yours!!! I really bought it cause thought it might be part of an arrangement in that new 18" cloche I showed you all awhile back...but it was too small & the candle ring was too big ...looked all scrunched up! ;-) It is painted gold with maybe antiquing dark brown over it or else it's vice versa w/dry brushing. candy...we have summer weather for this week! Am loving it ...but so do the 'bugs' this time of the yr! ...the little specks we call 'no-see's' were horrible today when DH & I worked ont he porch siding! But love the WEATHER anyway! nana..the Jewel Tea & that corn husk print are things that I do love ...because of family connections, I guess...enjoy adding good memories! I did do some tweaking already...moved flowers/basket & owl to top of old treadle sewing machine in LR & put that brown linen cloth on table w/soap mold candles & those stained glass 3 leaves ...like I did last yr. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Glad Dollbaby got some attention too!

Everything looks very festive and the new dishes look great with the TS bowl. Isn't it fun when things all go together?? The flag picture is perfect and the little girl is just darling. I like the color of blue for your candle.

Its all definitely worth lookin at. LOL

AAH, Dollbaby looks so cute, she looks happy to be part of the festivities. The little doll is so cute and I really love those shoes.
You do such a wonderful job with your buffet.
The white and red pitcher, plate and bowl are perfect.
I like the vignette on the shelf with the blue candle and the prints of the flags. The one with the little girl is darling.

Another beautiful job Jeanne! Dollbaby looks very spiffy in her outfit and I love the new little shoes and the dolly! Your new dishes look very nice on your buffet and I've always loved your flag picture and your little girl with the flag! TFS!

Dollbaby looks so darn cute all spiffed up for the 4th. That little Americana doll is just perfect with her. Cute little shoes from Pella. I've been there before and it is a really cute town. Too bad I didn't know you then--we could have arranged to meet up. Your buffet and special shelf look just right. So glad you had a bit of time to play inside. Guess I'd better get over to the GJ forum to see what you have been up to outside too. ;o)

Can't believe a week in July is gone already ...summer is passing by so fast! I looked up info on the "Our Flag" print (not 'The Flag') ...it's a pretty old framed print (lithograph) & I appreciate it even more now w/Mom gone.

yes...it was a real good weekend...work & play ...had some of kids/gr'kids home!

And, who knows, luvs...we may meet up again one day! That is if Jane ever gets that bus tuned up & rollin'! I'll ever let Dollbaby ride along if Punk will bring TJ! LOL!

Dollbaby really ought to come with a Cuteness Alert in the subject line. She never fails to make me grin with her sweet face. She just looks so cute with her patriotic stuff. And I love the way you did the napkin basket, very pretty.

Great job decorating with your dishes and decorations on the buffet and shelf. Sounds like you enjoyed company for the holiday. Ours left today and it was great but I'm pretty tired right now but had to jump on here for a quick look tonight. It's only 11:30 here and I'm just getting home.
