Streaks on sliding glass door glass

We have a sliding glass door that I washed with a wet micro-fiber cleaning cloth. The cloth was a little more wet than what it should have been. Later I noticed these streaks on the glass. So I tried to wipe them off. No luck. I got out the bottle of window cleaner and applied a lot of elbow grease both inside and outside and rubbing both up and down and across. But no luck. It sort of looks like run marks like when you clean something and let the cleaner run down it without wiping right away. It sort of looks like that, but not really. We have lived here almost 4 years and have never had this problem before. Any ideas or suggestions???

First, you might want to test to see if you have a broken seal to your IG Unit (Most patio doors are insulated glass units, consisting of two pcs of glass with metal spacers in between and sealed with a chemical added to keep moisture and condensation buildup). That seal is sometimes broken with age, pressurewashing too close to edge of windows, etc. To test, I use a foam type spray glass cleaner and a BRAND NEW razor blade-always have glass wet if trying to remove anything without scratching it-and test an area to see if outside being cleaned still shows your problem.
To clean your glass panels if it is just the outside...I use a denatured alcohol-or acetone-(not polish remover!) on paper towels to remove any buildup, then clean with a good foam cleaner. I find using the cheapest paper towels works the best...no lotions or lint that make the good ones so soft.. but leave streaks. Even your micro-fiber cleaning towel may have been washed with fabric softener, which is another hastle to get off!

Are you sure the streaks are on the outside surface of the glass, or could they be in between the 2 panes? I can think of nothing that would cause streaks on the outside surface of the glass which couldn't be cleaned off. If they are between the panes, it means you have a seal failure. I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer regarding warranty information.

mirror and frosted mirror are more economical than most clear or frosted glass. But the cost difference is small enough that when they go on sale at big box store, it easily swaps or evens out. Tinted mirror is expensive as they are not as popular.

I like to use French doors and rarely if ever use sliders, personal preference because I like the way they look and how the hardware looks when closed and the handsets are side-by-side and the hinges are on the edges. Lever hardware is preferable to knob or sliding hardware IMHO, ease of use. Inswing preferable to outswing. One exception to true French doors where both open was last year when I ordered one side operable and the other side fixed, with dummy hardware on the fixed side. This reason was this was a longtime guesthouse bedroom where some guests did not understand the 5 point lock or latches. I would find people added rubber bands to hold the doors closed by binding the handles together, and once found a hook&eye attached to the interior to (unsuccessfully) keep the doors closed. Guests are sometimes older and have enough to get used to in a new place without a lesson on how to close the doors, I want visits to be as stress free as possible (and for me not to worry about water damage if a set of doors went unchecked).

It may not be a stain from minerals but etched watermarks from a cleaner containing a fluoride compound of some sort usually found in metal cleaners. Vinegar will not do what you have and I would speculate the cleaning lady used something else with the ability to etch glass such as a stainless steel cleaner or diluted drain cleaner. If nothing else works I would suggest trying Duragloss Nu-glass #755 and can be found in most auto part stores. It is formulated to remove etched watermarks from glass but requires a lot of elbow work or a buffing attachment on a power tool.
