Good luck with your search for the perfect pink plates. I agree, the ones Judith has are so beautiful and can be used for lots of special tablesettings. Are you wanting a pattern or a solid? If you want solid pink ones, have you looked at the ones on Tenderheart Treasures?

Tenderheart online catalog had some lovely pink dishes, you should see if they might work for what you want.
I certainly can empathize with the back pain, I've been in misery since mid Feb with mine. And seem to have now taken a turn for the worse. So need to get x-rays and have the doc find out if I fractured more disks or what.

I'd love to think about Xmas! Supposed to hit 110 this week. I'm praying for Oct to get here fast, that's when we'll finally get back under 100 in Phx.

Dreamgoddess, I don't know how much you want to spend, but there's a 100 pc. set on ebay that looks to be a light pink~it's stoneware, not china. It's $99 for the 'buy now' and the shipping is $34.95 After looking at it, I think it's something that could be 'fancied up' using a few China floral pieces, or a crystal vase/pink Pointsiettas/crystal candlesticks with pink candles...mmmmmm. Simple, yet formal. ;o)

Yes, the dishes I have are pricy...but I did get them from an outlet, what I would do was buy ONE dish at a time, you would be surprized how fast you have your basic set..(in my case, the dinner plates and salad plates. Also, when my birthday came up, I would use my birthday money (if I got any LOL) to purchase more, and my DD always gave me a dish on Moms day and my B-day, so, it can be done, but still of course, it is still money added up even in the long run, not everyone wants to put that much money into a set of dishes....but I KNEW, that I would love them forever, so it was worth it to me...

Oh yeah, back to your original question. Yes, I am always thinking about Christmas. LOL, my eye is peeled for christmas pretties all year long. LOLOLO

Judith has a very good point--you don't have to buy a full set all at once--just the plates or even the salad plates and then do some mixing and matching with your other dishes. You can still get the effect without it costing as much as a full set would cost.

Okay, today I might like to think about Christmas--might cool things down a bit at least in my mind. We just went from the most beautiful mild temperatures to just plain HOT! Sure not ready for that yet. Ready or not, here it comes! LOL

Well, I am not thinking about Cmas, but if I see something I would get it! And I am thinking of all of you..today I was in TJMaxx and saw those cabbage dishes green and pink, you all have, but they were high. Then I went to Pottery Barn/WmSonoma and saw dishes and thought what each of you would like..colors, pieces etc. Then I went to Pfaltzgraff and found nothing. In Pbarn I bought some nice dishtowels, a new cutting board and some little tiny dishes that look like oysters...They were on sale, and then another 40 off , but it was an impulse buy, so I will have to think about it!

I think the heat is what has me thinking about Christmas. LOL! It's been around 90-100 around here and the humidity is horrible. I'm so ready for some cooler weather and summer's just starting.

Patty, thanks for the link to the dishes. Those are really pretty and I think they could be dressed up with accessory dishes. That's also not a bad price for a 12 piece setting.

I found something very interesting when I was looking around ebay. I was actually doing a search for dishes with pink roses and check this auction...Judith, doesn't this look like your Lady Carlyle pattern??? But it's by a company called Remington Red Sea.

Just a quick note, I am running out the door, the dishes you posted look almost exactly alike, I pulled my plate to compare. The biggest difference I can see is in the Dinner plate, the 5 small flowers "groups" that go along the rim are different, theirs all "match" whereas the ones that are Lady Carlyle are not matching bunches of flowers. So as long as you like the ones for ebay and you trust the seller (quality and safety) then I would say you have a great opportunity for some great dishes.

Judith, I looked at the Lady Carlyle and I see what you mean about the difference. I like this other china also, and it's a bit more in my budget. lol

I do see a seller that has a 12 pc setting in this pattern plus some extra pieces, but she's new so I can't tell anything from her feedback. I'm debating whether I want to take a chance on bidding on it.

Dream, I do a lot of buying on eBay and some selling, and I can honestly say most all Sellers are just great to deal with. Obviously get insurance on anything breakable but rarely have I ever had a problem over the years of eBaying.
I'd say "go for it".

I began cutting fabric to make quilted Christmas ornaments about 2 weeks ago. Couldn't find any red Christmas fabric until today. Low and Behold, I went into Joann fabrics, and guess what I found. They have about 40-50 different
bolts.

Wow omac, what good luck you had! I've been looking for some Christmas fabric that's pink...no such luck. I did find a website that sells mostly Christmas fabric and I've been checking to see if they get some in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I would love to see your ornaments when you get them finished!

Dreamgoddess - I'm always looking for ideas for Christmas - especially crafts that my sister, niece, and I can do when she comes to visit. Since I work all day, I have to start thinking about them now so I have time to get all the supplies together and try them out. So it's never too early to think about Christmas.
