Fisher Paykel Dishwasher Drawers-do you have them?
Comments (112)I started real basic and then just tried things to see if it works. I put a lot of large trays and cutting boards down the right hand side. I put a lot of small bowls on the shelves to the left. Large utensils like bbq tongs in the place they say serving dishes. I learned how to load glad bowl lids by trial and error. I will say that unlike standard dishwashers you can really pack this thing and it still gets everything spotless. The upper right front corner on top is the only spot that is a dead zone. They have diagrams. One for New Zealand has a lot of wine glasses. One for UK has a lot of tea cups and serving dishes. One for US that uses both drawers. Best part is that the captain of the dishwasher loading police, my bil, is rendered speechless since he doesn't know the right way to load it....See Morefisher paykel vs. DCS-fisher paykel range?
Comments (7)Good to hear, Zwizzle, since we've decided on a FP for fridge and dish drawers! I'm a little nervous about adjusting to the drawers, but a lot of people seem to love them. The fridge looks very sleek and beautifully designed. The oven, however, is somewhat less convincing to me, I think because we had a very heavy older Thermadore for years, and while we weren't happy with its performance, we did get used to its massive build. And there's so little user feedback available....See MoreFisher & Paykel Cool Drawer (undercounter fridge drawer) - feedback?
Comments (20)Erica - hey there! We decided not to get one in the end; too much money for what it would do for us. I would totally consider installing a whole bank of them under the countertops if I was loaded, though, as the concept is excellent. I just wish there was some more competition from affordable domestic brands to keep the pricing more reasonable. I went back through the other replies and only one person responded who installed one - all the others were speculative, not real life experiences (typical Houzz). You could try tagging cheztaki who was the only respondent who actually has one, maybe? I'd say if it looks like a great option for you, get it, but make sure it's not dead stock with an old warranty or anything, just in case. And if you do get it, let us know how it works out, and in the meantime I'll keep buying lottery tickets :)...See MoreFisher and Paykel Integrated Dish Drawer Sensor Question
Comments (13)Ron Natalie, I am sorry you had such a bad experience with your dish drawers. I hope you found something you like better. I have had a very different experience with them. I had my previous ones that I replaced for nearly 15 years and never had a service call on them. I only replaced them because they were white and I got new stainless steel appliances when I did some renovations to my kitchen. Otherwise I would have kept them. The new one is working great and the water softener feature is also great as it eliminates any spotting from slightly hard water. My previous ones did not have that feature. I like the dish drawers for many reasons but just to name a few: I live alone and can run the smaller loads without it seeming wasteful, I have a bad back and don't have to bend over to load and unload, I can alternate using them and keep clean dishes in the one I am not using (in a small kitchen this allows a little extra storage). Having had no need to call upon them, I have not had any experience with FP service. Only time is recently, the toe kick was left out of my new one when it was shipped and I contacted FP and I had it here in 2 days so they were very responsive. I do think, however, that the place where I bought them this time is not that familiar with them and that is why I am having trouble getting this sensor thing installed properly. They did the install and also do service so they are the ones trying to get the sensor working. I realize this is the first time the knock to pause sensor feature has been used on the integrated panel model. It may turn out to be a design flaw, but hopefully I will have the same experience with this set of dish drawers that I had with my previous one. Anyone with experience with the knock to pause sensors, I would love to hear from you....See Moresjhockeyfan325
