Garage entry door

I am looking for an insulated steel entry door with a flush metal surface (no decorative simulated panel, just smooth finish) with a half lite. Additionally I need two insulated plain slab entry doors to go from the garage into the house. Standard 80" x 36". Any ideas?

HMI and Provia make excellent steel doors and Therma Tru is a good door and the lowest quality door I would recommend. The flush doors from your garage to the house will need to be fire rated with a metal frame by code and these companies will have them available as well. I suggest buying from either a either a window and door dealer or a real lumberyard NOT a box store (HD, Lowes, etc).

Our lumberyard priced out a Therma-Tru door with the half lite in it for $2100. That seems obscene for a basic standard size insulated steel door and is higher than the cost of our custom mahogany front door. What price is reasonable?

We are trying to choose entry doors and garage doors for our new home. We decided to go with a Therma Tru entry door and Clopay garage doors. Both would be stained - I would have liked a walnut color, but Clopay only has two choices, dark and medium oak. We then decided on a natural oak TT entry door which seems to match the best. The problem is, we will have no idea whether they will match (and they are in close proximity, so they need to match) until we get them. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks Millworkman. It does not need to be fiberglass. It'll ultimately be painted black or a dark color. I'll check into the lumber yard. From my early research, the solid wood doors look to be at least double the cost which I'm trying to avoid for a what would be the garage storage door. Found this for the side entry door: link The other door is a double door to the garage storage area. Two 24" doors.

any Blue will compliment the orange tone of the brick.They are opposite on the color wheel. I would be creative with the panels in the garage door and entry door. Two different blues in the same family. with a bit of white as a highlight contrast to make it more contemporary.

Mrs. S, because, if needed, you can block them from your house by re-keying just one lock and not every lock in the house. Plenty of people can become untrustworthy for a number of reasons. If you use a secondary door, then no need for the owner to carry that key every day. In our previous house we had 5 doors. The side garage door was keyed differently. We never carried that key, since we could use 4 other doors. If we needed a dog walker we would have given them the key to that side garage door. Of course, you can also allow or block access with an alarm system and giving them a guest code that you can block at any time.

We do not seem to have ProVia or HMI available in our area. Options seem to be Therma-Tru and Masonite.

Stick with TT and that should be a $350 to $400 door from what I recall. They must have priced something incorrect. See a manager when you go back. Masonite is not very good i my opinion. Provia and HMI would be sold by a dealer for those brands and generally not available at a lumberyard.
