I LOVE your decor! I especially like the plates in the kitchen. How cool is that plate rail in the backsplash? I should have thought of something like that. I have seen so many things I should have thought of...but didn't. I love patriotic decor and all of yours is nifty!

Thanks,Mags. I have rooster plates that normally are behind my "plate rail". I just got piece of molding from Home Depot and glued it down in about 4 spots. (can easily be removed with a razor blade). I am nuts about plates, so I really needed to figure a way to display the rooster ones.

Those are really nice! I like the way you displayed your plates with the molding. I, too, love roosters and in fact, chickens in general. I saw one pair of chickens and in my quest to find some like them I am now the owner of a great flock! LOL. Thanks for sharing these with us. Susan

My very fav of all these is that lovely, lovely antique sideboard & how you have found the perfect place for it. I love the plate of RW&B candles ...and the scarf for your dog statue...what a welcoming place!

Also love your roosters & plates ...like peace says above, one set of chicks can turn into a flock! I have to watch out for that, too!

Did you make the patriotic heart wreath? It looks great with your sign above it. My sign is similar and maybe I need to think about some sort of wreath below. Is it ok to steal your idea?

I put together the heart wreath by front door, but I bought the sign on sale (80% off) last summer at Michaels.
Gosh, I'd be honored if anyone wanted to use an idea I did, LOL. I sure copy enough of others.

Kathleen, since its weeks yet to July 4th, maybe I can figure out a table setting. LOL.

Jeanne and Susan, the ONLY reason my rooster collecting is under control is I have a very small kitchen and they are confined to it. I have a couple of rooster statues but must resist buying more as I'm not willing to part with any of the ones I have. But its a good thing something is under control around here.

Since Punk brought up Jason's name, I have to brag a bit.
I'm attaching a link of the motivational speech he did to a Police group in Colorado. He inspires me daily. If you want to hear/see him, maybe you will enjoy what he says about "Life" also.

Karen, that is so neat that Jason takes the time to tell his story and encourage others faced with such huge challenges. There's no telling how many other lives he has touched and how much hope and encouragement he's brought. His message of "choosing your attitude" really can apply to each of us too.

Love all your patriotic decorations. Your wreath and sign look so welcoming on your porch, and I love what you did on that wonderful table in your entry. I'm a bit partial to your mantel as well for a couple of obvious reasons! ;o) Seriously, it all looks so nice. And you have some really neat plates and a wonderful place to display them. Everything looks magazine ready. Good job.

Karen, I listened to Jason's story again and it's a tear jerker but so wonderfully done. Hope all will take time to listen to his speech. You should be proud of your son and all he's accomplished since his accident.

Being a proud mom is very rewarding.
