Exactly! What thickness of engineered wood are you planning on installing? 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8"???

Hello, Since you are planning on keeping the vanity cabinets with dark granite countertops along with white subway tiles, I think an easy solution would be to bridge the gap between the countertop and the subway tile by using a white marble look floor tile with dark veins. Below are just a couple of tiles I found on Houzz. I think using light-colored floor tiles would keep the bathrooms from looking too small or dark compared to using darker floor tiles. Are you also planning on painting the walls? I think painting the walls in a gray color would be also a quick and inexpensive way of making sure the whole space looks good. The current paint color looks like it's on the yellow side and I think your tiles, granite countertop, and the brown vanities would definitely look better if the yellow walls went gray.

I always appreciate that people provide comments, even if well after the original posting date, as I am one who researches things and may be awhile going forth with a project. However, this bathroom update was completed months ago. I chose the larger tiles and am glad I did. BTW, the tile manufacturer will provide details on tile layout. This happened to be an Italian porcelain tile and, as far as offset, it needed to be in thirds, not half. Additionally, this tile was thicker than most porcelain tiles, so something to consider when you purchase tile. Cleaning was never an issue, only room size and perspective. My tile guy always does great work.

your floor layout is too small for a large herringbone tile. you wouldn't be able to see the pattern. I don't like those larger tiles 12x30, or 36, because the pattern looks odd. The herringbone is supposed to be done w/thinner tiles or wood pieces. It's a parquet. that's how it was designed. If you tried doing your bathroom w/those tiles in that last picture, it would look ridiculous. you'd have to cut the tiles to shreds in order for it to fit. I did a 4x16 in my bathroom and it's rather large. Doing a larger tile in your bathroom isn't going to make the space seem larger. It's a small space. use the correct tiles for the correct pattern. make sure you have ample lighting. it will be fine. I opted not to use any glass for more of an open feeling. this is the largest I'd try in your space. I like this better I like the width, but this is prob 24" long. I think a 12" or 16" would be long enough for your room. you could run it just like this up into your shower (do a plain white tile for the sides) Or, do a diff outside floor, and do the herringbone (this one is a 90 degree layout) in the shower. 3x12 tile is the size here
