Show me your hex-tile floors and tell me your grout color please!
Comments (8)Hi Bill, I have seen mention of this Mapei on other threads and did a google search and came up with a lot of foreign-language links. Who makes it? Or better yet, can you give me a link to a website? (Also, I sent you an email - did you get it? I noticed another tile installation disaster today. Our Master Bath floor has been covered for protection until today when part of it was exposed while the double vanity was installed. The large 16" square honed Calcutta Gold tiles are not centered on any of the walls, so there are really off grout lines at the center of the vanity. It is really obvious and when I think about it I literally want to cry :( . This is our forever house and everywhere I turn, a tile job is done badly. I could really use a good referal!)...See MoreOld wide plank fir flooring with major gaps between planks.
Comments (4)In real rustic pieces like what youre describing putting hemp rope between planks will fill the gaps. This Old House did it in an episode a ways back. Plunge the rope in and stain to match. They did it in a not so rustic house and it looked ok but i think a cabin setting would look better. Also since sanding the floor after the rope is installed probably wouldnt work to well so if you do plan to sand id do it before installing the rope. Otherwise the conventional filler will crack and break out with the seasonal changes....See MoreShow me your Natural Cork Floor (Corte)
Comments (3)Did you install more than 30ft without T-Molding? I can't find matching molding for the cork floor we bought and am wondering if we could forgo it. Our contractor will require us to sign a waiver if we do. The longest stretch is just over 30ft, about 32ft, but there are also transitions between bedrooms....See MoreNeed help for flooring choice - show me your floors!
Comments (5)My son has installed Amtico vinyl by Mannington. He thinks that is a good product. I have a wood look laminate plank floor. It is very nice but I am careful with it. If it gets wet it can warp. Depends on were your putting it. It is easy to install. We are going to remodel in spring and am really considering Amtico vinyl plank. Durable, can handle water and grand kids, dog and cat. It is also a less expensive choice for us....See Morewhallyden
