new gas dryer, do I need a plumber

I have a really dumb question. My 40 year old dryer smells like something was burning. Instead of having it looked at, I decided to purchase a new one. The new one will be delivered and I am paying extra to have the old one taken away. Am I supposed to hire a plumber to disconnect the gas line and re-hire him when the new one comes in? Something tells me I need a plumber.
