Thanks for taking the time to post such a thorough review. I had a couple comments about the oven. "Posted by burnchar OVEN: Convection: Unlike our $99 Cuisinart toaster oven, convection does not appear to "cook faster". While baking cookies, some in center rack and some in bottom,, those in the center rack cooked somewhat faster -- i.e. convection did not magically make everything cook evenly. " I think your oven has the auto recipe conversion. If you set the oven for 350 F, it corrects to 325 F. This might account for that. I find cookies often don't cook faster even without the auto correction though. Cooking time does vary quite a bit though and some sources say that cooking time can be reduced anywhere from 10- 30% but of course it depends on what you are cooking. Consider how ovens can vary. Fan only? Do you have additional third or even fourth elements? How much air is moved by the fan in the different modes? Getting an oven to heat evenly seems to be quite a feat. Convection fans and the presence of a third element in theory should help the evenness of heat, but again I had an oven with a third element that burned the food in front of the fan. I have two other brands now that are very even on all the racks. The evenness is also affected by the radiant heat from the walls of the oven. Every oven is different and it takes awhile to figure out how each one works.

My computer has a mind of its own and hasn't been working lately. All comments are interesting. Thanks Laat for the info about getting rid of the blue! Stirfry, I guess you could say that the issues are with the pots and pans and not the range, but the range is made to work with only certain ones. I have a set of excellent waterless stainless cookware that I love and will last forever. All of it works except the large skillet which is an item I used a lot. So I needed a large skillet and a small nonstick one just for the occaisional eggs etc. I just didn't want to spend $100 when I already have quality cookware I love. I might need to though. Diane...I have used my four sizes of Corningware on the range top for 40 years...didn't know the new stuff couldn't be used that way. I hate making spaghetti sauce in a pan and then having to dump it into another container. No matter how hard I try, it splashes and its hard to get out. So, I make a lot of things in the corning casseroles. Its so convenient to cook and store and reheat in the same item. I did spring for a large cast iron pan and it doesn't buzz and cooks great, but too large to store food in in the frig. For me it is a matter of does the excellent clean up and the fast cooking outweigh the other stuff. And, by the way, it is fast, but ok....it boils a large pan of water in 8 minutes instead of 10. I'm just saying. :-)

We have our first induction cooktop, a Wolf, after cooking exclusively on gas. the cooktop does not make the very annoying noise, but certain pans do. We have only Le Creuset and All Clad, both of which we were told were recommended for induction cooktops. No sound from the Le Creuset, but certain All Clad pans seem to be worse than others. In our experience the frying pans are the worst. Heavier pots and saucepans not as much. And, for whatever reason, one particular non stick pan was the worst of all, so we stopped using it because it was THAT ANNOYING.

I have had cfl bulbs in all my bathrooms for years with no problems. What you need to do is get rid of the dimmer switch which probably is the source of the buzzing. dimmer switches do not work with the compact florescent bulbs unless they are specified for use with a dimmer. these type are hard to find though. The electronics in these type of bulbs are sealed and work fine in a humid environment. I have also had them in outside fixtures that are open on the bottom and they have been out there for a couple of years and they still function fine. Plus they also work fine during the winter when it gets down around zero. They just take longer to warm up and they are not the outdoor cfl's The electronics in these bulbs are sealed enough for the use in the slightly humid environment of a bathroom. the one bathroom we use them in presently has no bath fan and does get very humid and the bulbs in use have been in there for at least 2 years and not one of them has burnt out yet. Go ahead and use them AFTER removing the dimmer switch.
