You should be able to find videos on YouTube. Search for "whirlpool dryer belt replacement" as a starting point. There's more than one design with slightly different disassembly procedures so keep searching until you find some that match your machine's design. This is a typical Whirlpool top-filter model. UNPLUG the power cord! Remove the two screws under the lint filter door. The top is hinged at the rear corners, released by two clips near the front corners (depress with a putty knife inserted into the seam below the top while lifting the top upwards). There are screws inside that anchor the front panel to the cabinet, and possibly one of the two screws on the door hinges may also need to be removed (usually not both so the door stays attached to the front panel). Tilt the front panel slightly forward and lift upward to remove it. The front rim of the drum is supported by a lip on the front panel, so the drum will drop slightly down when the front is removed. Removal of the drum for full access inside requires detaching the belt from the motor pulley. Pay attention (take pictures?) to how the belt routes through the idler assembly.

I mix up cleaning out in fall and spring, depending on my mood, weather, etc. Right now I'm at battle with voles so I'm a bit disgusted with the garden and haven't done much of anything except rake leaves out of a few beds.....only to find more vole damage. We've decided this year to leave the oak leaves whole in the mixed shrub/perennial beds until spring. Other beds will be raked out. We also decided that this fall we don't feel like shredding/mulching leaves, so we are leaving that task until spring, as well as the final raking of the shrub borders for shredding.......which we might regret, but we'll give it a go. A couple years ago I started using Jakoti hand shears and I cannot say how fast cutting back in the garden goes with those. My hand does not get tired and those things slice through everything. Where I used to use pruners to cut back sedum, aster, peony, etc, etc......which required many snips, I now can whack through a huge aster in about two snips. It has really made clean-up a breeze.

I asked how it was vented because that can effect drying time plus best way to clean. And if you have a bird guard over the vent outside, it can clog and you can remove it and clean it. Also add one or two old dry towels to your wet load. Helps them to dry faster. A blower( leaf) is the best way to clean out the vent pipe.

That is SO weird. It looks just like my SQ drier. But mine came with a little drop-in grid. That said, A LOT of lint still gets past that drier. We have a secondarily lint filter installed in the venting behind the drier, and we must clean it about every third load. It gets covered. And about every 3 months, we have to unscrew that bolt-thingie that holds the mesh pocket in the drier, and run the vac hose and some drier brushes down inside the machine. Wads of lint come out. Maybe all driers give off that much lint? Dunno. This is the first time we’ve had a secondary filter, or a primary filter we could unbolt. But it helps me understand how so many drier fires occur.
