live_wire_oak - The reason I was interested in using the laminar wall mount is because it would eliminate a 9" tub filler sticking out from the wall and being in the way of the bather (double ended soaker tub). I also have a large double hung window that is in a perpendicular wall that in theory could be opened up into the room (when cleaning) and if the person operating is not careful - could either a) break the window, b) break the filler, or c) break both. Speaking of being budget oriented - that's actually why I started looking at this option. Originally I was looking to do a floor mounted classic style tub filler with handheld but they seem to be very pricey! $1500 - 2000? The only brand I saw that was more reasonably priced was "Elements of Design" but I haven't ever heard of them and am unsure of the brands quality. Also, seems like Kohler is easy to shop online and save $. antss - How would I make sure that the plumber males sure my valves and pipes could supply 8 gpm? When my water pressure was tested I want to say it came in at 70-75. It is an old house but all the plumbing is being completely redone. Wouldn't my water pressure fluctuate depending on if the tub were the only fixture being filled vs. someone taking a shower, running the dishwasher, laundry, etc all at the same time? In other words, if the plumber hooks up the Laminar tub filler and tests the range of the arc of the water in order to determine the best location for the tub - isn't the arc going to change depending on the pressure? I'm on the fence about using it. It could either work out perfectly and be cool because it's different, or it could be a total installation nightmare. Ahhhh, decisions, decisions!

Sure - I'm going to fill the tub with the same amount of water (which, for the tubs we're looking at, is in the 70-80 gallon range). But, it will take almost twice as long - and yes, the water does cool. Sassinak - you're on my page! (I'm looking for a tub that holds less water, btw - but still, taking 15 minutes to fill a tub vs. 8 or so does seem like an issue). We didn't want a wall spout because it's a two person tub - and we don't want a faucet poking into the head of Bather #2. We did go to a good plumbing store yesterday - and it looks like we'll get the handheld PLUS a tub filler - with just a diverter between the two (no handles for the filler) - and mount the filler on the deck, possibly back side middle - so no having to have it in one's face. I really appreciate the help. Lazypup, in particular - thanks for the clarification on flow rates. We brought home Grohe literature that indicates that one of their tub fillers will reach a rate of 15 gpm! (We have good pressure at the main point of entry to our house and will be replumbing from that point to the bathroom in order to keep that good pressure up where it belongs - so I'll be able to ZOOM fill my tub). Not that it's been much of an issue - I actually have my day planned out right now so that I can fill our current fairly small tub (takes about 15 minutes) while I do stuff in the kitchen. It would be nice, though, to be able to plan a quicker bath!

Enduring, really like your setup! My new (1983) house is sort of a contemporary-ish, transitional eclectic something or another. I found a great deal on Hansgrohe lever sink faucets and want something that will jive. There is a Hansgrohe model similar to your tub filler but with levers that I need to stare at some more. Boy IâÂÂm a dingbat; once I used your key words âÂÂTub Fillerâ I got all kinds of hits. Just a little flip of the wordage and Presto! The good news is there are a lot more choices out there than I thought (although not huge). The bad news is that I have never heard of most of the brands. For example: La Torre has some real nice looking stuff at a reasonable price. The few reviews were all good on the product itself but bad that it doesnâÂÂt come with some sort of rough-in valve thingy that is hard to find (I guess). Next, I came across this wall mount Baril from the fantasy collection that I really like. But who has heard of Baril? Not me! ItâÂÂs only $380 and must be too good to be true. However, here is the site and IâÂÂm almost convinced to give it a try. Now that I have the right search terms my problem is finding something nice that is not so traditional or overly modern. When I do find something I like it has a name I have never heard of or itâÂÂs something wack from China. We installed a free standing tub in our master bath similar to your set up only our tub is wider (which you might think would be more of a strain to reach), but there is absolutely no problem and no strain at all. Also, the plumber had no issues installing it and no difficulty working on it at a later time after installation. So, certainly not an impossibility or even a difficulty. You just need to make sure that your installation has enough room between the sides of the tub and your walls for easy cleaning and easy access to the base of your filler. I have about 2 1/2 feet between the bathroom side walls and the base of the tub and a little less at the top because it flairs out a bit. Here are the specs for our tub and our bathroom setup....
