Goal: get as many Vintage mother plants; Question: How?
Comments (10)The UHaul idea is the best. Fly to SF, then rent a UHaul truck in Sebastopol or nearby and drive the roses back to Texas. I don't think this is out of the ordinary; I see people driving UHaul trucks all the time. Just don't rent one of those that attaches to a trailer hitch; numerous people have died or were severely injured in accidents involving UHaul rental trailers. Anyway, I'm sure you can arrange for an agricultural permit in advance of your visit. Another option would be to hire a trucking company, although the cost would be prohibitive, especially with gas prices in California hitting four bucks a gallon. Good luck! Comments (3)I have the same problem with some older linens. I found this: Oil-based Stains Use heavy-duty detergent with hot water. * Automotive oil * Hair oil * Bacon fat * Hand lotion * Butter/margarine * Lard * Car door grease * Mayonnaise * Collar/cuff greasy rings * Salad dressing * Cooking fats and oils * Suntan oil or lotion * Face creams Oil stains can be removed by pretreatment with a heavy-duty liquid detergent, an aerosol petroleum-based solvent pretreatment spray, or a pump-type detergent-based pretreatment spray. If these products are unavailable, you can use a powdered detergent that is mixed with water to make a runny paste and apply that to the stain. The heavy-duty liquid detergents or aerosol sprays are more convenient and effective. Work the full-strength heavy-duty liquid detergent into the stain or spray with the pretreatment product, then wash the garment using hot water (if safe for fabric), the recommended amount of detergent for a regular laundry load, rinse, and inspect before drying. Repeat this treatment if removal is incomplete the first time. I've also hears that shampoo works, too. Comments (54)The thing with yellow is that it "blows up" the more surface area it covers, am I right? I wanted my cabinets to "read" BM Fresh Butter. To do that, I could not actually paint them that color. You really have to Ignore the chip colors almost entirely and be prepared to pick a dirty yellow/more brown than seems advisable color. For me, that came down to Vellum. I also looked at BM Goldfinch, but it was just a bit too brown even "blown up." In the bright sunlight, the sink base cabinets really do read BM Fresh Butter to me, until I hold the chip up to them. Then, they don't. Yellow is the hardest color - also because the color takes several coats (often) to fully develop (so its a pain to swatch it). The cabinet color was the hardest part of my kitchen plan. When you see my mood board at the final reveal, you'll still see the Fresh Butter strip :-). I couldn't let it go (and the Vellum strip is just "meh")....See MoreWould love some help! Not loving how my entryway turned out. Any ideas
Comments (79)I love everything you chose! I think your issue is actually arrangement. Instead of centering the bench, push it all the way to the right to where the plant sits currently. I'd keep your existing mirror and add several more in a grouping over the bench, a small gallery wall of mirrors. You have natural asymmetry because of the switchplate, location so roll with it rather than fight it. Dip some of the mirrors down closer to the bench. Mix wood and gold-tone frames. You'll need to relo the coat hooks...that's ok. I'd actually stagger 5 closer to the door where there's a top row of three and a bottom row of two in the gaps from the top. Throw a small mirror or two over on that side as well. Depending on your ceiling height, and if you still have the parts for the chandelier, trade out the drop piece you used for the next longer one to bring it a bit lower. From there, just add some more greenery and a few more pillows....See Morearizonarose
