What ideas can you give me for a long narrow master closet?

Our closet will be sort of t-shaped. The longest section is 12 feet long and 5 feet across to the other side. What I would like to do is use the long section for 11.5 feet of rod space with wooden "panels" spaced out along the wall for support. Most of it will be double and some will be single. Then across the narrow aisle I want to have some shallow shelves all the way to the ceiling. The shelf section will only be 8 feet long then it will turn a corner for another 4.5 section of rod space. There is another 5 X 5 foot section opposite of the 12 X 5 X 8 foot section. I'm not sure what I want to do with that. I know that it's not ideal to have such a narrow space but I got what I got. I'm pretty sure that we will be have our carpenter build the closet or else DIY because of the odd sizes and the need to use every inch. Any ideas? Does anyone have pictures of a narrow closet?
