Thanks! Yes both doors open. Just missing the handles for the one on the left. I'll have to measure the size when I get home. They are the Maax Purfect Dual Doors. They are 80" tall which is what my husband loved about them.

A hint on the toilet paper holder: I'm currently staying in a casino hotel in Las Vegas where they put the toilet paper holder about 3" too far to the back to be comfortable. It's not impossible, but if it were my house I'd be totally annoyed. So pay attention to where the guys plan to put it!

P.S. Be glad the folks who tiled this bathroom didn't do yours. Clearly not trained craftsmen.

I think it is great you were able to put a larger shower in the location of the old tub. I see that the doors are french doors. I have them on my short list of door options. Please tell me what brand it is. Or any details you do have, such as glass thickness, treatment used on the glass and you thoughts on the treatment.

Did you go with a smaller vanity and but in a closet?

Took this quote off the "Illustrated Rules of Good Bathroom Design":

The toilet paper holder should be located 8" to 12" in front of the edge of the toilet bowl, centered at 26" above the floor.

Have you tried filling your tub yet? Was wondering how wide the tub was, and if you had any problems reaching the taps? Still not 100% sure where I will be positioning taps on my tub.

Enduring, we did get a smaller vanity, 72" but we always had a linen closet. The linen closet was behind the tiny shower in the original bathroom. The doors are Maax Purfect Dual shower doors. They feel and look very solid. I love them. Here's some info I got on them:

-Ergonomic handles
-Unique patented hinges that allow an amazingly simple
three-inch adjustment on both sides
-10mm thick first quality tempered glass shower
-80 inch high glass doors

raehelen, the tub is 67 " x 37 ". It's Maax Reverie. Only $948 on Amazon! We've filled it and no problems reaching the taps.

kousa, we are in NJ and the remodel cost us about $19,000.

Thank you for your response, prbetsi75. Did you do the work yourself or was the remodel done by contractors? That is such a great price.

All the work was done by contractors. We bought all the materials. They charged us $7,000, the plumber charged us $2,500. The balance was buying the tile, tub, vanity, shower doors, fixtures, etc. We saved money by leaving the toilet where it was as well as the vanity. We also opted out of having jets in the shower, which were just too expensive. Gotta decide what's important to you, and skip the othersâ¦.otherwise the costs get out of hand.

jerzeegirl, the tile on the floor and shower is ABK Fossil in Cream which I got at Tile wholesalers in Newark, NJ (are you in NJ?). The vanity I got from Continental Hardware also in Newark.

Beautiful remodel! I love the contrast between the dark mirror and vanity, the white tub, and the light tiles. I'm starting to plan my master bath remodel in my head and this clean but warm look is exactly what I'm hoping to achieve.

I'm really surprised you got the mirror and the vanity at two different places because the wood color seems to match perfectly. Were you able to custom order the mirror to fit the space exactly? I thought perhaps you framed it yourself because it works so well in the space.

Love the tub too! Is it comfortable to recline in?

juddgirl2, the mirror was not custom. I just knew that I had to find an espresso framed mirror and I tried to find one at least 70 inches since the vanity is 72"â¦which wasn't easy to find. The mirror is actually marketed as a floor mirror. Haven't tried out the tub yet for too long..but it's fairly wide and seems like it will be quite comfortable.

So funny, I initially thought your 'before' pics were your afters! I was thinking, why did she do that?

Then I saw the real afters and it is beautiful. Looks way more expensive than what you paid. Did your vanity come with the top or did you have it made?

We ordered the vanity top when we ordered our vanity so it was from the same place. Not sure if that's what you're asking...The vanity and the top arrived together.

prbetsi75, thank you so much for sharing and posting photos of your shower. It is beautiful closeup. Can you tell me where you get those corner shower shelves? Did you install them? I would really like to add those to my shower if they are available for sale somewhere. Also I must say your tileman did a terrific job caulking around the edges because I can't even see it.

Thanks kousa. We got the corner shelves from Tile wholesalers in Newark, NJ. I think most tile places sell shelves like these. Our contractor put them up.

Beautiful. Such a great use of space--more for shower and less for tub! I too have decided that tubs are better in theory than IRL for me. I always think I want a big glorious tub and then find that I rarely have tome actually take a bath. My kids used it more than I did. Love the colors and the counter area in particular seems very inviting and a big improvement.
