A medium deep, warm taupey gray looks great with it. Don't use a blue based cool gray. In a natural stone you can use gray foussana which is also a stone called Flannel from Walker Zanger. The Siematic showroom had that on their floors, and had a calacatta gold kitchen with white cabinets that looked gorgeous with it. You can also use a porcelain in a stria or with some texture to it, or a limestone look in that color and then use a mosaic version of the tile in the shower.

I found an amazing 1'x3' Porcelain tile (named Calcutta Gold) that we used on the shower walls and ceiling and we used a light gray 1'x2' floor tile (pepper something).

I am trying to find some really high quality calcutta gold porcelain tiles and some more warm gray tiles to match. I see Mission Tile in TN carries one, and Rex out of Italy has one coming out too. I am sure there is more, but I can't seem to find smaller tiles if we chose to go that route. Everything seems to be in large floor tile style.

Can't find the notes from that tile order. We had a hard time finding a good match with the lighter coloured veining in the Porcelain tiles to match the slabs we purchased. I spend one afternoon driving around Burnaby and lucked out on a small lot find. The store had 345 square feet and I only needed 150.

My client spent two days with different layouts in the living room and another 4 hours with their designer to get it down to a perfect layout. We had one tile corner fail while setting and after the fact my steam shower ventilation system needed to be fined tuned and we lost another. Luck would have it we had one exact copy and one near perfect match.

We discovered that there was 20 different tiles in total and they could be laid out to look like a full slab.

These clients have asked me not to share photo's of this shower - I'm sorry I can't share any pictures with you. After doing my best work and not being allowed to showcase it I'm much more careful about addressing this with new clients. Now I ask for permission before we even start or we pass on the job.

I'm installing a Calaccata Gold vanity countertop, and my floors are bamboo wood (real) - a warm tawny brown. My shower surround tiles are a porcelain Calaccata Gold that look absolutely stunning... I believe they're from Italy but they shouldn't be hard for you to to find. I found them at a local tile & marble place for $4.00 per square foot. Call around and take samples home.
