Glad you asked this question Lynn--I've often wondered about that too. ;o)

I don't have much, most I use other places when not on the table. I've also confiscated two large shelves in my hallway closet and put some things in there. I have some over my washer just like you, and a few other things are on shelves in the storage area outside. Since I've been on this forum, I keep collecting more, and keep feeling that I either need to clear out some stuff or add another cupboard somewhere!

Lynn, thats what I am always wondering too when I see all the lovely tables. I have always been curious about the floral centerpieces too.

I have two or maybe even three skinny shelves in the garage that I use to store all the seasonal things. I use my sewing closet to store things that can used everyday - candles, glass stuff and so on. But, I dont have as many things as some of the other folks here so its not so hard for me.

I guess I need to build a shed with lots of shelves. I don't have a basement or garage. Every closet, shelf, cabinet, and under my bed is packed. I need at least one more china cabinet. I always wondered how to store some of the bigger pieces to keep them from getting so dusty.
I think I will go clean out the cabinet over the washer while I try to figure out somewhere else to store stuff!

My husband installed large shelving units along two walls on one side of our basement some years ago when we were doing craft shows. Little by little I've gotten rid of all my craft supplies & replaced all the space with tablescape items. The shelves are now full!

I have nowhere else to go with anything now. I have started to lable the bins, as I've spent hours trying to find one item I know I have, but cannot find.

Since my grandson lives with us, there is less room, as he has taken over a lot of the basement with his things also.

I'm thinking of going thru things this spring & selling off some in a garage sale, since there are some items I've used two years in a row & may just clear some out to make room for new things this coming summer from garage sales.

There are a few items & glassware I bought on a whim & never used, so hopefully I can make room for new things.

I wish I lived close enough to go to your garage sale, Yachter!

Me too, Yachter, you always find such neat things! What kind of crafts did you sell? Have you told us about that before? I used to think I'd like to do that, but just kept working at the bank and now I'm too slow and procrastinate too much! LOL

My "excess" is really bugging me. Just more than I've ever had to store before. But everytime I think about getting rid of some things, I'm afraid I'll wish I hadn't later! In addition to always picking up more dishes and little decorative items, I've been buying more books too, especially those neat Christmas decorating ones that have crafts and lots of pretty decorating ideas. My books are now crowding out all my other accessories on my bookshelves! LOL

I sure envy those of you who have those big basements. My dream would be to have a whole big "pantry" for dishes. LOL

We have a china cabinet in the dining room and store 3 sets of china there. In the adjacent family room we have an armoir and store a lot of pieces there. Then in the kitchen we keep the two sets of everyday dishes. Finally, we have a finished basement with shelving right at the bottom of the stairs and another room with storage closets.

Mostly, I collect china and crystal (and linens....hehe!) For centerpieces I usually keep is very simple and use fresh flowers and candles. I do enjoy seeing all the elaborate table settings on this forum!
