Comments (4)We own a cluny. What I think you need to ask yourself, is how much do I need each of these items. From your list, to my mind the least required would be a warming cupboard. We haven't had a microwave for ten years and interestingly, don't seem to miss it. Comments (9)If it helps any, there's a 30 minute keep warm setting on the microwave drawer. Great as the warming cabinet is, I'm beginning to think it's a bit of new-toy-itis. You keep saying "I want two ovens". I think that means you want two ovens. More than anything else, you want two ovens. So get two ovens and go with the Cluny. For the convenience of others looking in the oven in the specs for the Cluny are: Gas oven : Enameled sheet metal. Dimensions W x H x D : 400 mm (15 3/4") x 305 mm (12") x 460 mm (18 1/8"). Four shelf positions with 58 mm (2 1/4") spacing, 55 liters / 1.94 ft3. Heating is provided by a thermostatically controlled burner with electric ignition and a thermocouple safety cut-off. Heat output : 13,500 BTU/Hr Static electric oven with broiler (option) : Same dimensions as gas oven. Thermostatically controlled roof and base heating elements with thermostat safety cut-off. Comments (6)A lot depends on how you cook and for how many you cook. Is your Victorian an old row house with tiny rooms or a mansion? Or a smallish house that you're blasting open on the inside. There are a lot of houses in your area where finding where to seat a dozen guests is a bigger issue than where to find the oven space. The vaulted La Cornue oven is supposed to be terrific for roasts. Not so much a gigantabird roasted whole. My goose pot wouldn't fit, for sure. :) Will you be baking twelve dozen cookies for school? Lacanche is more of a "normal" stove in the way you approach the oven. There are strategies by which anything can be made to work. Even with two fridges, three ovens and a warming drawer, I plan my menus according to what fits where when, and in what state, and I juggle things according to needs and spatial geometry. Comments (26)Huruta - Thanks for responding. I'm getting a French Blue Chagny. Lacanche colors are wonderful and look even better than on the web or the brochure. If anyone is considering a Lachance, try and get to the showroom to check them out. I have a question about your vent a hood. The Lacanche website says that the vent should be a 24-27" deep and vent a hood only comes 19 or 22" deep. To be honest, I'm having an very hard time finding one that is even 24" deep let alone 27" deep. Is the minimal depth been a problem or issue for you? This has been the only hold up on finalizing the kitchen and I'm wondering if I'm being overly worried about something that really isn't an issue. Our vent will be installed at the same height as yours since I, too, have a tall husband. I'm also trying to figure out if it can be wired so that I can regulate the vent from a switch on the wall so that I'm not reaching over a hot oven to turn up/down the vent while cooking. I have some height issues and it is definitely as stretch for me to reach that high. Our designer hasn't been of any help in this area and says it "should" be fine. This is going to be my forever kitchen and my husband has already made it very clear that there are no re-dos so I need to get it right the first time....See Moresayde
