Calling for all DCS range / dishwasher owners feedback.

With DCS promotion, I can get a free dishwasher with a purchase of a 36" range. I'm about to place my order now. I really appreciate any feedback from DCS range/dishwasher owners. What/why do you love or hate it?

I don't have the DW but I do have a 30 inch, 5 burner range. I love that all burners have a separate simmer ring. The SS top is easy to clean. I love the infrared broiler and the racks roll easily.

You mean DCS makes DWs? They certainly weren't on offer when we bought our DCS range, let alone as a BOGO. I did see F&P Dishdrawers, but those aren't exactly comparable to a DW, as they don't necessarily work in every kitchen.

I used to have the 30" AG version and when making my original decision, suffered from the same cash shortfall you do. I purchased the AG version in late 2004 and it performed extremely well in all aspects (as described in detail in other discussions). The oven required nothing more than an occasional wipe down after doing some messy baking (roasts etc) but I had not used any cleaner. Gas ovens perform differently than electic. It's a moist heat which is great for meats and casseroles. When baking, you will notice a slight difference but it's really not noticable, unless you're a bread person. They tend to notice the difference more. I left that stove at the old house (and my brother is enjoying it now!!) as I was fortunate to find a prior year's 30" DF model for LESS than I paid for the 30" AG new. While you won't regret the purchase, check outlet stores and what not. You will be happy with whichever model you purchase.

After owning a capital Precision 60" gas self cleaning range since 2008, I would say, AVOID CAPITAL. I was the biggest capital fan because I thought they had the best and most innovative product. Upon delivery and installation, we were burning everything we put inside one of the ovens. We went back and forth with Capital for months, they sent out repair people who swore there was nothing wrong with the oven. We were even blamed for not letting the oven warm up for enough time before we put our food in. We had to threaten them with legal action before they finally had a proper technician fix our range. As the years progressed, our issues continued. The rotiserrie went out. They sent the parts and I fixed the motor myself. Our grill always heats only the left side. I had a gas leak inside the range and Capital did not respond to my requests for help. I had to get Trevor from Eurostoves involved and then they responded. The absolute worst is they offered to fix my grill and wok burner (useless) for free as long as I paid for shipping both ways. A few days later, they sent an email and said, they were wrong when they told me they would fix it for free and would charge me for the repairs. I AM DONE WITH CAPITAL.

Our glass hood is one of the few items that didn't adhere to the concept, function over form. I just wanted the "look" of the minimal glass hood. We chose a Miele. Yes, it gets greasy. but it is a breeze to clean. THe filter drops out easily and goes in the dishwasher. You then just need to wipe down the under side and the top weekly or so depending on your cooking style. It is simple to keep clean, honestly. However, it is not at all quiet. In fact, it is annoyingly loud. I don't care because each time I see it I love the look. Call me shallow.....

Thanks, celtinNE! Same to you. Thanks, plllog; based on that I will skip the runnels and save some money. Any thoughts on the covve dupont edge as opposed to a plainer edge? I also did some stain/etch tests on the samples of marble and quartzite last night. Keep in mind that both were merely honed and not sealed. I tested with ketchup, olive oil, blueberry, sour salt, a slice of lime, and my go-to stain offender, Thai red curry paste. I left them for several hours. Results: EVERYTHING etched the marble and the oil sank in permanently. The blueberry left a faint stain on the honed side of the quartzite sample and nothing at all on the polished side. Red curry paste stained all three samples, but was less noticeable on the polished side. Nothing etched the quartzite at all and the oil did not penetrate. So while I love the marble, I think I am going with the quartzite because it will be under the very unforgiving halogen lights over the island. Besides, it's sparkly and pretty!

We love our DCS range (3 years old). We don't have the dishdrawers, so I can't comment on them; the promotion wasn't offered when we bought, & we chose Miele DW. The dishdrawers should be good if you like that concept.

I just bought the DCS 48 all gas and received the double drawer dishwasher for free. I'm loving the range, not sure yet about the drawers. Pure beauty aside, there is a large amount of water left in drawers after cycle is complete. I just used it last night for the first time, to test installation and clean. The manual says some water will be left but I feel this is too much. I live in the South and I can only imagine what that stagnant water will bring if left without a way to drain. That said, it's HIGHLY possible the problem was in installation since it's brand new. If anyone can offer any suggestions, I'd be very grateful. The other slight drawback, the DW only uses powdered detergent, liquids not recommended.

Well Well Well....my installer forgot to punch out the drain on the garbage disposal...No wonder the drawers were filled with water. Everything is now flowing as it should and it's perfect.

Bumping this to see if there are others out there with more feedback on this DCS 36" dual fuel range and the DW promotion. This offer has been extended until 6/30 so we need to make up our mind.

FWIW, our other choice (for an additional $1200 over the above promo) is a 36" BlueStar range (all gas) with a KitchenAid DW.

Bumping this again for any input.

I bought the entire kitchen package. 36" range with double drawer dishwasher, electric wall ovens and refrigerator.

DCS is changing their model styles pretty significantly and you can get a great deal (depending upon the retailer) on their current models.

I bought the range in May and got what I thought was a good deal but was able to get the wall oven and refrigerator for half the retail price last week.

My kitchen will be finished in the next two weeks. I can't wait to try this stuff out.
