Residential cooling systems do not have a reservoir for liquid refrigerant beyond the pipes that move it from the compressor outside to the evaporator inside. Some newer systems at least have staging to alter the system cooling capacity to match the cooling load, but more than two stages is uncommon. Commercial systems can have actual variable capacity but they are expensive to install and maintain. They can be designed with storage for liquid refrigerant, and actual variable metering (more than a simple thermostatic expansion valve now used in many residential systems) and have actual variable metering into multiple separate evaporator coils. the compressor is run based on the storage reservoir, not the temperature. The refrigerant volume and number of evaporators is then used to vary the output capacity of the system. It gets complex and expensive to install, maintain, and run. They often also cool the air year round to dehumidify, then heat it back up in winter, and add back water to a design level. They even can have actual humidity sensors, and not just temperature sensors. It is all about cost to design, install, run, and maintain (complicated systems break more often) Even a staged system only can match the load at two points. At every other point it is oversize and runs as a 'bang bang' controlled system (on or off, or maybe with on at lower capacity, or on at higher capacity if staged).

Where are you getting your concerns about SFR? Do you think your pump can't keep up? Low water flow? Not sure what your research has shown but I know of only one or two people on the internet who use SRF religiously. Although it can be an issue under extreme cases, in most situations it is not. In fact SRF is really only relevant immediately after regeneration. And if you follow the advice of many to rate your softener to regen every 8-10 days (till full max capacity), then what started out as 12 gpm SFR is reduced to next to nothing prior to it regenerating. My advice is to regen more often at a lower salt dosage to reduce the chances of hardness bleed through. If the dealer did an adequate job in selecting the appropriate equipment, mentioning the actual cubic feet of resin in the softener (along with dozens and dozens of other technical datum) is not necessary unless you ask and they don't want to tell you. Then I would be a little concerned, but the vast majority of new customers have little interest or knowledge of those details. If you want to know, simply call the dealer and ask---he should be more than happy to give you all the tech info you request. After seeing thousands of customers, I have practically never had one ask me about the volume of resins, even when doing upgrades or changing from single tank to twin tanks or vice versa. Of course if they ask, I would explain. When I got estimates for AC units, I never asked what the BTUs were or what compression settings were going to be. I just wanted to be sure it did the job. The FLECK is a reliable valve and there are others on the market that also do great work.

We have had induction for nine years and we love it. But we are not slam-the-pots-and-skillet type cooks, though. We came from electric coil burners, and one cannot get away with doing that on those without consequences. We already had the cast iron skillets and correct line of All-Clad pots, so did not have to change cookware, either. Gas has its advantages; there is a reason people love it. However, cleaning the gas grates, etc. was a big reason we didn't install gas, in spite of family and friends who love their gas ranges/cooktops. Nine years later and age-related arthritis in my hands, I am really glad I don't have gas. And the kitchen never gets hot from a flame burner, which is really nice in our summer climate. And induction is so darned easy to clean. A clean fresh dishrag and some Method brand all-purpose cleaner (make sure it includes "glass" on the list of things it cleans) and it's done in a minute. Yep, that is about as much work as I want to put into cleaning a cooktop. Big down-side is you can't roast marshmallows over induction. LOL

Already did it and received the tests in just a couple of days. I must've hit on a sweet spot 🙂 We also haven't had any occasion to use our at home tests - yet. Both hubby and I are being very safety conscious, even if others around here are not - actually, especially because others around here are not.
