I think the single mirrors definitely are more decorative and you then have the option to add an additional element in way of the frame you chose. You may also have room to add a single sconce between the mirrors for an added level of light or some other decorative item. Maybe have space for a counter garage. I can't help you off hand on the mirror sizes. Mine are packed in the garage of the other house. To get an idea go to the gallery of the decorating forum and look up the bathroom eye candy thread and there are literally hundreds of photo's. You should be able to get some ideas from there by looking at idividual mirrors and how their size relates to the vanity/bowl size. You can also google vanities with matching mirrors and that will give you specific sizes. Good luck.

The shelves.... We originally wanted a 30" x 12" niche but when we opened up the wall, there was a septic vent smack in the middle. We decided on 2 niches instead, I wassn't about to mess around with those pipes. When figuring the tile layout for the design I wanted, our friend suggested that we oversize the niches so the tile would lay out nice - he suggested 18 x 18 niches and I freaked. But the 12x12 would not have been big enough for the 3 kids and all their stuff. He suggested a granite shelf on the bottom and then one above it to make a shelf for soap, razors, etc. We talked about the length and width of the shelves, but never the depth. When I picked up the shelves from the granite fabricator, I freaked - they were 1 1/4" thick just like the countertop was being made. Friend said, don't worry, they would be perfect. They are. I honestly wouldn't want them any thinner. When he laid the tile, the bottom shelf slid in tightly and then he cut the bullnose on the side and the back tiles so the top granite shelf sits on the cut tiles all around. The tiles abouve the top shelf are full 6 x 6 and as you can see, we have enough height for those huge oversized shampoo and conditioner bottles. There is kerdi behind so no worries about water issues and they were all caulked and all afterwards. Being the over-emotional one, I figured this design that had been in head my for 2 years was ruined when I saw how thick those shelves were, but I wouldn't want them any different. I think they 'fit' the design perfectly as is. And I just love the niches. Before, the kids had a tiny corner shelf and bottles were all over the place, now there is enough room for everything plus space for guests when they are here.

olychick, thank you for taking a look. :) I'm relieved to hear you think a white shower pan is best. I am heading out now to find porcelain marble look tiles for the shower walls to pick up the gray as you suggested. I want a shiny finish to the walls. Tell me if you think that's a misstep. I am avoiding marble as I have a marble topped vanity now that is pock marked with etchings. As far as seeing myself in the vanity, yes, I think I will be able to do so. I was planning on a black framed mirror spanning the vanity. My current vanity is 32 1/4" high (as will be the new vanity) and when seated on my vanity stool my reflection is seen up to my chest. The only issue currently is that my knees are pressed against drawers. I failed to mention that I was thinking of using absolute black granite for the vanity top for two reasons: one being cost and the other being to avoid etching. Will doing so deviate too much from my inspiration? I'm sorry you don't like those tiles, but I can tell you, I would select those tiles TODAY (if they were even available) over the ubiquitous grey veined marble or marble look tile bathrooms we see here every day. It's a beautiful bathroom. The windows do not bother me at all; I much prefer them to something that has window coverings for privacy that block all the natural light. They are somewhat reminiscent of chapel windows and feel almost reverent to me, and calming. There is something natural and organic about tile over the quartz that is being used everywhere these days (plastic). I bought a house built in the 1980's that had beautiful trim tile which looked as if it could have been hand painted. But it had kind of a pinkish beige background with simple pink flowery designs on it. I detest pink, so I couldn't wait to change it out. I finally did that in 2022, lol! I understand not loving something, but living with it sometimes is easier than we can imagine.
