Since I love gardening & being outdoors, I joined a Facebook page a yr ago called 'Flea Market Gardening.' The link is below. I love being on the 'Garden Junk' site here on the Garden Web Forum where I found you 'Holiday-ers' w/some help from 'Enablers' here! ;-)

Anyway, I was asked by the administrator, Sue L., of the Facebook page if she could feature my gardens in a new blog entitled 'Flea Market Gardening Blog.' I was quite thrilled! So, if you want to see that blog I will post a direct link in the next comment to this posting.

Thanks! I spent all day yesterday planting 'em up. Today it's raining, so everything is soggy and drooping. I'll give them a few days to dry out and perk up, then post some pics. Wow, Jeanne- your copper boiler looks just like mine! Maybe next Spring I'll use it for a water feature... Kathy

(((Cross posted this on the 'Conversations' side yesterday)) I've been thinking about starting a garden blog lately. Not sure if I will actually do it or not, still pondering that one! I'm pretty ignorant about the ways of blogging though... I did get some of my questions answered on conversations, except for the one I am having the most trouble figuring out, how to manage pictures. I have ALL my pics on Photobucket. Shall we say hundreds? I constantly upload pics to certain albums (such as one for Perennials, organized alphabetically to coincide with my personal plant records etc), delete old pics and such. Trouble is the html links all get broken when I do this. How do you guys manage this problem? I would hate to forget, shuffle things around and then end up with blank pics on my blog that I would have to go back and fix later. I don't want to have a secondary hosting site- I would prefer it all on my current PB account if possible. As I said, I am challenged in this area, lol. Only way I could figure of doing it is to create a separate album for blog post pics on PB, and then sub-albums for each of my separate posts from there. I could copy the pics from my other albums and move the copy to the sub-album so the link will never be broken to the blog and I could still move or delete the originals (in the original album) as I liked. What do you think? Or is there a simpler way of doing it I have yet to think of? Thanks for any tips you can give! CMK

Scott, I agree with every single word you said, except for that "Roll Tide" comment. LOL I cannot imagine the wildlife management folks would do anything to harm the mountain lions and, in fact, I'd rather it not come to that. In a perfect world, they'd trap and relocate them to very remote areas and wildlife refuges, not that there's any guarantee the cougars would stay in that area since they are going to follow their food source, so to speak. Of course, it isn't a perfect world. I have watched the NW wolf re-introduction program with great interest too and feel like the feds have made some mistakes that have led to great mistrust of them and their program. I wish they'd had a better/more efficient plan to deal with the problem wolves preying on domestic ranch animals right from the start. I'm merely hoping for a better year here at our place in 2010 with no real big kitties visiting the garden. Maybe I shouldn't have planted that whole row of catnip and catmint for my kitties and it is right along that garden fenceline too. Roll Tide? So, you support Alabama? Having suffered through OU's bowl game, and then TCU's and UT's, I'm just glad the bowl game season is over. At least the Dallas Cowboys are still hanging in there, and that gives us a little something to watch as we wait for seed-starting time and planting time to arrive. With the Florida sub-species, I'd like to see them thrive and grow because they have their role in the ecosystem. What will happen, though, if they start preying on animals or being a threat to people? What will happen if they start moving into Georgia and other areas? The 'idea' of having them around is easy, but the reality seems harder to manage. Jay, I felt exactly the same way when I read the post from our visitor from Texas. At first I wasn't going to say a word but then I thought I'd make the points I made. Maybe this is a person who has no idea of the danger involved in having large predator animals hanging out in people's front and back yards. I have found there are lots of people who have no clue about wildlife. When someone tells me they think it would be "cool" to walk out their door and see wolves or bears or cougars 'out there', I just shake my head. Let's not forget the elderly couple here in Love County that was attacked by that buck this fall. The one thought that sticks in my mind is the statement that our undersheriff made about how there was so much human blood on the ground when he arrived that he figured someone had to be dead. I'm glad they survived, and now whenever I see one of "our" deer hanging out around the pond or compost pile, I head right inside the house and wait for it to leave before I come back outside. The last two weeks we've had both coyotes and bobcats on our property, and I know this because the coyotes are leaving scat and both the coyotes and bobcats left tons of tracks in the snow and mud (thankfully the mud is about to dry up.) In an odd way, seeing them around a lot is good because they become a lot more scarce when something bigger and meaner than them is nearby. Dawn

My house plan was stock from Design Basics, but my builder had a license to customize it. I took the plan to his architect and COMPLETELY reconfigured the inside--removed walls to open it up; changed the orientation of the staircase; removed the breakfast room so that my kitchen is 16' x 20'; added the screened porch; deepened the front porch from 6' to 8'; widened the interior gallery; reconfigured the master suite for better privacy. The garage was supposed to open in front, but I wanted a cottage garden, so the two-car garage is a sideload. As for Southern Living -- my deer-resistant garden (outside the fence) was featured a few years ago.

Thanks, Holiday-ers! party...you made me laugh! I just love, love taking pics...always have! I just wanted my friends here to share in the blog...I was pretty excited about it! (my kids think I get a bit crazy on the forums here w/my decorating & gardening & flea market treasures! LOL! Did you ck out the FMG FB site, anyone? We're nearing 10,000...I know Marlene is on it! Congrats on being featured Jeanne. Nice that you can share your creative and picture taking talents with more people than just us.

I love looking at blogs, but not so sure about Facebook yet. I really don't understand how it works I guess.

Jeanne, I'm with Luvs when it comes to the Facebook thing, but I read every line of the blog. Left you a comment too. You're certainly not a one-talent gal.
You've created wonderful outdoor spaces. So glad you shared this part of you with those who don't frequent the other forums.

Thank you, Holiday-ers! I just think this 'blog' thing & the whole world of Internet, Skyping is just the most fantastic invention!! Having Internet friends from all over the U.S. esp w/some of same interests ... connecting w/old classmates & esp Skyping w/Gr'kids who live hrs away! And sharing 'pics'... Just amazing!

Oh, & going bk to college & getting that 4-yr degress got me a job I never dreamed of...Youth Librarian Asst in the bigger city near me...so my 'art' degree w/English minor pd off! Who would have 'thunk!' uh! I sincerely thank you all & appreciate your sweet comments! Jeanne S. Computers can drive ya crazy but they're sure wonderful when they work this way!

Opps, guess I was so excited at seeing you featured that I forgot to post here.LOL Do you get to post any pictures you want or do they pick the ones to share? I'm so excited for you and can tell your elated about this. Way Fun!!!

Sounds like you love technology and would be great in our business. There is more technology coming our way soon. Internet is taking over fast. Good thing I work or would probably be left behind.

Just got home. Had dinner with friends this evening. Was so nice to get off work and have dinner waiting. We laughed all night and it was so relaxing.
