a bucket is how I always did it. It certainly does the job.

I look forward to hearing more replies on this. In the bathroom I'm remodeling right now, I added an additional hand held, at least partially for this reason. Right now I hate trying to rinse down the shower when cleaning and so far the only solution that seems to work for me is using a plastic bottle with a nozzle to squirt the walls (think bike water bottle) since I often don't want to be in the shower itself while I'm cleaning. While this solution works (for the most part), it's slow and tedious. I'd much rather have the hand held to make the job go more quickly.

we currently have 2 (cheap!) wall shower heads in our shower...when we remodel i am going to replace one of them with a handheld on a bar, mainly for the cleaning the shower ease. i currently rinse the shower by angling the wall heads and using my cupped hands---terribly inefficient!! i don't know if i'd install one ONLY for cleaning purposes tho. you may find you like having 2 shower heads tho- we do!

I squeegee the walls (2 tile, 2 glass) after each use, and sometimes the floor. That keeps everything pretty clean on a daily basis. Then I just use glass or tile cleaner when I do a more thorough cleaning. (OK I'll fess up the cleaning lady does that part.)

I've always rinsed the walls with a huge bug gulp cup from 7-11. But I like the idea of a bucket, much faster.

All great ideas. Does anyone know of a temporary attachment to the regular showerhead that would work? Someone in another post mentioned something like this to attach to a tub spout for rinsing the tub.

I have the tub spout attachment... I think it's the last on the planet! They are really really hard to find.

It did not fit my spout, I had to cut out the inner lip, and it's really difficult to get on and off. (it's for my big tub filler, not shower).

I haven't seen a standard tub one in YEARS, and that is what I was trying to find.

So if you find one, let me know where!!

I have a plastic watering can that I picked up years ago in the gardening section at Walmart or K-Mart or Target or someplace like that. I think it cost about $4. It lives under my bathroom vanity and does double duty for watering my house plants AND rinsing down the shower walls. Here, I found a picture on the web.

The white head part screws on/off and typically, when you see the jugs at a store for sale, the heads are screwed off and sitting somewhere NEAR the green jug part so I suspect lots of people don't even know they're supposed to come with a head. Works great.

I bought a Rinseroo at Amazon. AMAZING! I use in in all bathrooms of my house! Inexpensive, portable and fast! I cant believe I spent all those years rinsing with a bucket.

I have a hand held shower in my master bath, and it makes cleaning so easy. I think that is plenty of reason to go with a hand held!

However, the hand held in our hall bathroom started leaking, and my husband replaced it with the plain old shower head that was here when we moved in. I keep a large plastic cup under the sink and use it for washing the shower wall -- I hate it.

I would hate to çlean out shower without a handheld. There are some really nice looking ones now, if you look around. Right now, our shower is 4x4. We have an all in one piece on one side with a handheld and 5 body jets. On the opposite wall is a normal wall mounted shower head. I love this combo. Whenever we travel, we’re always excited to get home to our shower!
