handheld shower head on bar--why do you like it?
Comments (12)Are there any of these units that are suitable for installation in a standard (i.e. small) tub/shower alcover (60x32) that aren't so expensive that I have to consider auctioning off my grandbaby to get one?!? I must be looking in the wrong places, because the ones I've seen so far (online, haven't made it to the store yet) all cost close to or in some cases substatially more than the Kohler soaking tub we're getting - several were 2-3 times the cost of the tub, which we're getting for around $430! In case it matters, all I want is to have a permanent rain shower head plus a separate hand-held, and be able to choose between them (having both run at once is nice but not necessary) - it doesn't need to be on an adjustable-height bar, I don't need to control both separately, I don't need to sense and control temperature or flow in case someone flushes a toilet elsewhere in the house, etc. We're also planning a full remodel, so I can definitely get one that requires you to plumb for it - it doesn't have to hook up to just the existing shower head. Thanks for any links, models, online resources or whatever you can guide me to!...See MoreTemporary Handheld Shower for Cleaning?
Comments (2)Why not just replace the shower head with a hand-held one as shown below. We just did that and it works great for either showering or cleaning. Here is a link that might be useful: Hand-held shower head...See Morehow do you clean your natural stone bathroom?
Comments (22)Thanks for the laugh about "purified angel's tears"! I'm really leaning towards marble in the shower area...I did some internet research and read that a diluted bleach solution is okay. I'm not sure what think! I printed out catmom's reply (THANK YOU!)with all the product names in case we decide to go with natural stone. Went tile looking again today and saw some pretty porcelains, which I know are much less maintenance. Nothing is "set in stone" LOL:)...See MoreClawfoot Tub with or without handheld shower?
Comments (13)Just a note from the dark side: We have a small antique tub with just the original faucet, no shower head. Yup, it's a pain. What we have to have in the bathroom is a jug (we have a standard plastic juice jug) that we use to rinse the tub. So no matter how pretty my bathroom (and it isn't, yet), I'm always going to have to find a place for that jug - and the jug is almost always being put away wet (whether we scoop retreating bathwater to rinse the tub, or fill from faucet and rinse, the jug usually gets wet). So consider the space given to the hand-held to be in lieu of the jug. Plus, you have to clean the jug from time to time. So you're saving space AND time AND mess. Trust me on this!
