I'll Be Gone For A While

Hi Ladies and Jim,

Just checking in to let y'all know that I won't be stopping in for a while. A lot of changes are going on here lately.

The Tuesday before Christmas Alfred got laid off from work. It is hard to explain that we aren't worried about our finances. God has brought us through so many situations that seemed hopeless and we came out on the other side so much better than when we went in.

For the next 21 days I will be spending a lot of time in prayer and Bible study.

I just wanted y'all to know that I didn't drop off of the face of the earth. I love every one of you and will holler at you February 1st.

Betty, so sorry to hear about Alfred losing his job but I LOVE your attitude. We will add you to our Prayer Chain and may God see you through again. I was prepared to flip burgers at McDonalds if our business didn't make it and so far it's been great but alot of others have not been as lucky.

Most of the large mills around are closing and that makes the rest of the economy go down. However the state is working on schooling and programs for the workers here. Hope things work out for you and Alfred and will be looking forward to hearing from you.

You will be missed.

Betty, I'm so sorry the hear about Alfred's job.
I rmember several weeks ago, you mentioned he had concerns about his job.
Please know that while you are in your Prayer and Bible studies, I will be offering prayers for Alfred, you and your family to help bring you through this difficult time.

You have all gone though some tough times before, and I know with your Strong Faith and Tough Spirit...
you will get through this too.
I strongly believe, if no one is Dead or Dying...
There Is Hope...
I believe you know, that with God - All Things Are Possible.

Good advice, Tally about the extra suitcase. I always do when I visit my friend in Seattle. He does the same when he visits me. One year, the suitcase wasn't large enough, and we had to pack the remainder of the plants in a large box..... whatever works, I say. LOL.

Again, many thanks to all! The surgery is July 7th, but between now and then there are so MANY doctor's appointments, it makes my head spin. I'm working hard in the studio, and hope to have another quilt ready for binding. Realistically, it probably won't happen. It does keep me distracted, LOL. Mary

Maybe I will go over and read the cleaning forum for an explanation!! The two left (of about 20) were not the ones I wanted! Does anyone save their posts somewhere else? Is that possible! Patti, I still haven't finished yet! I'm painting the walls "nectar" from Dutch Boy paints. It's kind of a creamy, mild yellow color, except one wall, which will be a darker "Mellow Sun" color. I tried to find the Dutch Boy colors online for you but I couldn't. I've gotten two walls in the kitchen area done and am going to try to finish the third one today. Then comes the dining area! It's all wallpaper that will have to be peeled off (which is not too hard) and then painted. The worst was getting that tile off and putting the mud on it. Ron has been strangely silent on this thread! Hehe. Yesterday he got home from work early so he started chipping off some of the adhesive. When I got home he said, "I have a new level of respect for you, this was really hard work and I have a blister!" He had only finished about 4 feet whereas I had done about 27 feet! That felt good! I'll send more pics when I'm totally done. Thanks for all the positive strokes! You guys have been so helpful and motivating!

Betty, we will miss you so much on here. You are always so enthusiastic and such a pleasure and we all just love your posts. I can understand why you feel you need to take a break and work through this stressful time. Please don't forget to come back to us.

You and Alfred have so many friends and have come through so many tough times--I just know God will help you through this one too. Just makes me want to cry that so many good people are having to face such tough times because of this economy. You have my email also if you ever just need to vent or want to talk.

I'm so sorry for our husband, Betty! And will cross my fingers for the both of you finding a solution to cope with this situation!

It's my hope for everyone that this unsecure economical situation comes to an end soon!

So many out of work, and doesn't seem to be improving..let's hope it does soon..

Sending positive thoughts your way. My husband is in the automotive industry and was out of work for almost 8 mos. I thank God we had money to get through it(sure wrecked havoc with the kids college fund) Now he is back to work but it is out of state/country. And though it is hard, it beats being homeless. Hope things work out for you.

Mo, we have missed you--hope you are coming back to play with us again--and that everything is okay in your life.

Gardner, I'm sorry you DH is having to work away from home. I know the auto industry was really hard hit this past year, so many lots are now vacant.

Sure hoping and praying that things will turn back around soon.
