Can you steam clean porcelain tiles?

I posted this in the cleaning forum and it was suggested I ask in bath or kitchen forum: I would like to steam clean the porcelain tiles in our bathroom. My husband says the high temperature of the steam could crack the porcelain tiles. Is this true? I find this hard to believe, and would the steam also affect the grout?

I used to clean the tile floors and linoleum on my hands and knees, and thought the steam should work better. The installer said to use hot water to clean the tiles; but I think the steam would help with sanitizing.

What do you use to clean your porcelain floor? TIA
