Here's one I'm planning on doing with the third graders I've been assigned. They do love candy!

I plan to make a Valentine card for Jammer by using a jigsaw template on a photo of myself. I'm going to add the text, "I go to pieces without you!" on the photo puzzle. Print it out on card stock, cut the pieces out and put them in an envelope. I thought this would be especially appropriate because he's gone so much!

I also have some more Valentine ideas on my computer at home which I will list here this evening.

Hmmm. The outdoor aspect has stumped me. There are some outdoor heart string lights at Target and lots of different kinds on eBay. You can even find LED battery operated ones somewhere, but I think they're rather expensive. What about using some of those foam sheets they sell at Michaels? They might even sell a pack that's already cut into heart shapes. Use a Paint pen to write words on them that mimic the words on conversation heart candy. I'll keep thinking. Yes, that was our kitty you saw in the picture. He's about 15 years old and moves up and down the stairs better than I do. Still, there are times when he won't eat for days and I'm reminded that he's pretty old for a cat. He never got a proper name - just Kitty. I'm sorry you lost yours. What a hole our animals leave when they go. When my first kitty died, when I was very young, my mother told me that he went to Kitty Heaven. Silly, but I still like to think that there;s a place known as Kitty Heaven.

Ok This has nothing to do with fabric but I have tons and tons of buttons...many containers..hidden in my cupboards in my sewing room...well, I saw a photo somewhere on how to organize my buttons....and this is what I'm going to do - I went to a local store where I've been able to find these glass jars with covers...the covers are plastic which is fine...and I bought 8....I'm going to sort 8 of the primary colors - all of the red tones, all of the blue tones, all of the green tones, all of the yellow tones, etc. into jars.....then each jar will get a fabric topper for the cover in the color of the buttons...and I can then arrange the jards on a shelf...I think they will make a great display - and when making projects, wallhangings, etc, and I need a certain color of button - I can take down just the jar that has the color I need...eventually I will perhaps get extra jars for other colors..but for now -I am limiting myself to 8..I'm really not sure where I'll even display the 8 yet.....but I loved the idea.... Here's my idea. Take it for what it's worth. It would be fun to have a periodical (weekly, monthly, whatever) motivational theme. Everyone could post sites, ideas, or whatever that match that theme and if interested could make up pages for their own scrapbooks. I'm thinking of something that would be a motivator to work on pages not a type of competition. I don't post personal pictures on the internet so I wouldn't post a final page, but would be interested in ideas or sayings related to certain subjects. Here is a stab at some idea themes for events. 4th of July Picnics Summer Vacation moving everyday life (this is more of a challenge to scrapbook than most events) the lake I have to go take care of business, but maybe somebody has some ideas and could expand this idea.

All those additional years of trying, and caregiving, only resulted in more heartache and damage. Nothing good came of it." My father is still alive but I have a similar regret. Both of my parents were completely dysfunctional, abusive, and if I had a do-over knowing what I know now, I would walk away in my late teens before they did even more damage to me.Some of the worst decisions I ever made was from fear of my parents, parents who did nothing but instill a sense of fear and neglect in me. Catherine, I could be wrong but I suspect because of her age, you are worried she will pass away without you resolving the relationship. I felt the same way with my mother, I jumped through hoops to make things right and she still died without ever giving me what I needed from her, to basically feel loved and accepted on some level. Losing the opportunity to "fix things" was one of the hardest things about her death. But eventually I realized that she was never going to give me what I needed, she just wanted to keep manipulating me and abusing me because that was her thing, that was her power over me and she wasn't going to give that up. If you haven't got from her what you've always wanted and needed by now, it isn't coming.

Love Soup

(*use a hot cocoa packet, mini marshmallows, and for a stirring stick, use a red candy stick.
Put in all in a Valentines Day cello bag with a bag topper on it, and put in a mug*)

Cupid made a little batch
Of love soup just for you.
He blew a kiss and threw it in,
In fact, he blew you two.

He added white and fluffy hugs,
And a little stirring stick,
Add some hot water and sip it slow,
It's sure to do the trick.

I got a couple of kits at an after Christmas sale at Target. They contained 10 hearts and 12 Snowmen 12 feet of red ribbon and some skinny ribbon.

The hearts and snowmen are about 2 1/2 inches and are a kind of pressed puffed material. Anyway, last night I strung the hearts/snowmen with the little ribbon and tied them to the length of ribbon. They look nice and make a garland for over my windows. I'll post a photo when I get them up. They were Christmas items but didn't have any C Decor on them.

I'm going to try and find those foam hearts and glue either a paperclip or hair clip to the back of them and give out as bookmarks.

Seems easy enough for me......if I can find the hearts. Do they have some kind of 'cutters' to use for the full sheets of pressed foam?

You might check Michael's and the little foam cut out section. They have different seasonal already cut out foam things and a lot of them have peel off sticky backs.

I thought I designed a wreath one day but a friend sent me a page from some book one day it was on there.I make round wreaths for baby wreaths when you make hundreds of little yarn bundles tied in bows you tie all the bows on wire hanger well one day I bent the hanger into heart.Just pull down center pull sides in shape of heart.I used red yarn added a beautiful silk bow on it.I hung it from the side kinda.Easy and pretty.

I need some ideas for my Christmas tree. Every year I say I am going to leave it up and decorate for each month of the year. This year during a florist's open house they had a tree decorated for fall and it was beautiful. I decided then this was going to be the year I was going to do mine.

I now need some ideas for February besides hearts. Any ideas for me and the other months as well if you have any.

That's a neat idea, Susy. I might just put a small tree in my entrance room. I'll start looking for decorating ideas and will post the Valentine ones here.

Susy, I did a tree in all homespun burgundy material bows and hearts which could be left out all year, but if you wanted it just for February, you could use material with red hearts on it.

For January, a tree could be done in snowmen, snowballs, and snowflakes. (I decorate my quad cane each month with a theme or holiday theme. One time it was all fruit, another time all birdhouses, another was all airplanes, etc.It's snowmen and snowflakes right now.)

March...shamrocks, leprechauns, rainbows, pots of gold, green bows. April...Easter. May...flowers, etc.

For my 3rd grader's party we are discussing doing a few things. First all we are having sundaes for snacks along with a pink drink of some sort. We are going tp play a game of a name written on the back of a student and he/has to guess from hints as to who it is.

In Family Fun Christmas issue they had where you took a cupcake paper cup, bent the bottoms together, used double sided tape and taped them. You ended up with a fortune cookie shape. I have some Valentine cupcake papers from last year and they are adorable as fortune cookies. Now I just have to think of sayings to go inside.

One more thing...I'm going to buy red shirts for my dd's. I;m going to let them draw hearts on the shirts using the Clorox Gel Pen. I have never done this, so I hope it works out okay.
