Christmas Gifts

Here are some of my lovely gifts. DS gave me the glass and silk bonzai trees, which I'm in love with. He also gave me the pink pottery mouse cheese dish cover. He knows me so well. DH gave me the darling pottery puppie letter holder, which has already found a home in my kitchen. I gifted myself with the pink pottery birdhouse, which is staying inside. I'm a lucky girl.

Lucky you, DH and DS know you so well! I'll be looking forward to your use of the silk trees. Although pink is not my color I have to admit that cheese cover is very cute! What are you going to do with the birdhouse?

Oh boy, I guess your family knows you well! Love the pastels ...very frou, frou!...& they look like they're quite "original" finds, too!

I was just thinking of kitchen gifts. I am doing some sewing for a couple of gifts -- a phone wallet as a gift card/cash holder, a tech bag, possibly a couple of other bags. I think I'm going to make a new lanyard for my son's work ID. He had a school specific one before, but had a pretty plain one when I saw it yesterday. And I will probably be making a couple pair of PJ pants -- special fabric and extra length. Allison, I have ordered from Bouqs also. I have sent some gifts and got a couple here, including the ranunculus. I really enjoyed those and they lasted longer than I expected. I have not made full use of the other discounts though.

A cutting garden should be a mix of annuals and perennials. Here are my tops: Zinnias - easy to grow and come in a variety of colors Dahlias - come in many different shapes and sizes Sunflowers - make a statement in a bouquet and come in various heights and colors Cosmos - delicate and airy flowers that look great in arrangements Sweet peas - fragrant and colorful flowers that come in a variety of hues Larkspur - tall spiky flowers that add height to arrangements Snapdragons - tall, colorful flowers that bloom for a long time Gladiolus - tall, dramatic flowers that come in a variety of colors Ranunculus - soft, delicate flowers that come in many different hues Peonies - large, showy flowers that are perfect for bouquets More good info on annuals and perennials.

Not sure what style you are looking for but here are a few not too far over your budget .. $29 and $39 left to right (Nordstrom). In a slightly higher price range (sharing in case someone else is looking), I got the one below for my nephew-- he specifically asked for another from the designer who made the one I gave him last year. I was really pleased with both of them. They were both about $75. This year's last year's (also available at Sundance-- and i think they still have 30% off everything?)

'You Trained Them Well'. They actually paid attention to what you like, and gave you some really nice gifts.

Karen that is darling. I've already starting looking for houses, I want to glitter some myself for Easter. The ones that I did for Christmas would be perfect if they didn't have snow on the roofs. I want to find some a little smaller than the the Christmas ones. I haven't been able to find any of the little fences yet either, but they will turn up, GS season is just around the corner. Thanks for sharing that with me.

Your gifts are perfect and go great in your kitchen. The little house would be perfect for Easter in your kitchen. I hope you will be able to find the fences at Michaels or some craft store.

The bonsai trees are so neat. Thanks Nana, for letting me know what you call these. Can only imagine how many ways you will use them. Fun to see more pictures this am.
