Blue for Two

Since I couldn't use my dining table because of the puzzle we have been working on, I set the little game table in our den for two. My favorite part was the little vintage cobalt lamp, I think it makes it look like a 1930's nightclub table. I'm sorry, my photgraphy skills are still lacking. Syble

Thank you for posting your setting. I was looking forward to seeing and it is lovely as I expected.
I think the snowmen are adorable! and such a creative way to display them.
I love your blue glasses and the lamp to match.

My gosh Syble, it sure does look a restaurant right out of old Hollywood, at least what I can remember from the movies. Wish things were as glamorous as they used to be 'back then'...everyone dressed up, and you didn't need a reason. I miss that!

Will you be serving cordon bleu and Martini's? I think I would be happy with tomato soup with such a beautiful table setting~presentation, presentation, presentation. It's everything. ;o)

Once again stunned by your LFO, I sure hope mine brightens up like yours! Mabey next year, its still new this year. I got Baby blues from the clump sale at Sunshine hollow, it has not done much for me yet, there is some new growth, but very little, and no scapes, boo, hoo. Is the pink in the lower left hand corner of your last pic Becky Lynn? I got BL new this yr. too, but now flowers. BTW- love the look of your liatris planted with LFO! Ill have to keep that combo in mind!! ahhh... established clumps look so pretty! -Jessica

I hear so many scares: it's all info based on experience. Just know : I believe the best advise: granite, CS, Quartz, Marble, ect countertops. #1 clean with a 4.5PH daily SAFE cleaner: Distilled H2o if diluting products. Use a weekly polisher/silicone based. #2 wipe up messes ASAP! Immediately. Then no matter what: take very great care of your investment and all should be well. (The AB granite scare is real: I read a hugh Legal stand article on AB granite today! Crazy! Read things I never hear before: but have seen re: the gray vs black. Crazy!) One thing Legally that I read: ONLY LEGAL AB granite comes from Africa. The rest of the 'black' granite around the world can't be called AB Granite: not even from India. They color it black with chemicals to appear more black; and that is what gets ruined not the stone. I read the best thing to do if you want granite more black: it's a process of stripping what the factory put on there and re-applying a color enhancer sealer that will darken the color the right way to more black. I should post the article. There is legal action that can be taken against the factory of the granite. consumer fraud charges on the stone yard who represent the factories who process the granite.

Was the planted seed commercial, or saved from a previous year? It sounds like it might have crossed with another bean... that usually results in sub-standard quality. I once planted Fortex, Goldmarie, & KY Wonder #191 side by side, and saved seed from KY Wonder #191. The following year, many of the pods were unusually flat, and had heavy strings. If you grew more than one bean & saved seed, crossing is the most likely reason for the stringiness. Even commercial seed is not guaranteed to be true to type; I bought some bush beans several years back for a late planting, and had quite a few plants with flat, stringy pods.

Very pretty table and I love all of your blue dishes and your lamp matches so well. You have all the collections to make beautiful tables. How long have you been collecting? I loved your cranberry and now this blue is just as wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Pretty, Syble!! Cobalt & white with silver is my favorite color combo at this time of the year. I really love your lamp. Is it electric or candle? Your idea for the snowpeople display is wonderful and very imaginative! Is that a casserole server they're in? Thanks for showing it all to us!

Gee, ya'll are just the cat's meow. Pattycake, dirty martinis are my absolute fav and I love old movies from the thirties. One year on our anniversary we went to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, MI and attended a murder mystery weekend set in the 1938. We dressed for the period, and the Grand hotel requires formal dress for he evenings, it was a blast. Slinky and everyone, the snowmen centerpiece is an Avon thingy that folds up to make a gift box with a top on it and it has little twinkle lights, I just added the crushed acrylic glass chunks. Punk, the cobalt glassware was the beginning of my collecting 33 years ago, my mother worked for an elderly lady who owned an antique shop and she gave me pitcher and glasses for my wedding and the collections have progressed from there. The shorter stems on the table were also from that samelady. Lynn, the snowmen centerpiece is sitting on a silver cake plateau. I bought two of them years ago at the DS and use them for everything. The little lamp is electric and I hid the cord under the edge of the charger, I found the lamp in a box of junk at an estate sale for $1.00 and added the shade. Syble

I'm late to post but Syble, I wanted you to know that I just LOVE the colour of blue dishes you have used and how perfectly the little lamp fits in! Makes it look like a table for two in a fancy restaurant! Your pics look wonderful too - very crisp and clear showing the great colours!

I love the shape of the glasses and the cutwork on them. The plates with the blue rim are so nice too. I love that little lamp, really nice. I just got into blue, so I am glad to see how you are using yours.
