merdena, yes! I say this from my own experience. In other words, 'if I could do it, anyone can.' I had two advantages. I worked in a hardware store and I did 18 hours of "irrigation school". The most important thing I learned in school was to identify and name correctly the many and various fittings. My first investment was in a can each of cleaner and glue, some pipe and fittings and a hacksaw. My first successful project was extending the water supply to our washing machine. It had to be removable to leave the original fixture intact when we left the apartment. PVC is a particular joy to work with because if you make a mistake, you can use the hacksaw to get back to the drawing board. I practised aligning fittings (without glue) to make piping go where I wanted. Then I would glue the project, test it and cover it up. Two habits I formed were to always use colored glue so that I could spot a joint that was not glued and to always use teflon tape on threaded fittings. Hardware stores have these free booklets which will walk you through the project from beginning to end. You yurself will not be able to resist getting into the act; there are so many spinoffs! Like making PVC furniture, plant supports, lightweight shelving and (clothing) racks etc. etc.

They look really cool. Going to Michaels frustrates me because I see all these interesting products and I don't know what you do with them. My basic cable on TV used to have a station that featured crafts and sewing and I enjoyed watching all the interesting finishes they could do with paint, etc., but I can't get the station anymore. I have a question about the varnish and heat. Are they okay together? I would think the varnish would start to melt or get tacky when the globes heated up. I think you have to buy special paint for outdoor grills that will take the heat.

I stumbled across it. My child and I were talking about the quality of headphones back in the day. I have kept all of them. Though, I've been through a couple of turntables, my super-old headphones connect into the current day turntable. You might not think much of it, but it's really taking me back. Meals were also a thing that were very important to my mother. We always had cloth napkins, which I ironed for a nickel apiece, candlelight, and we each picked out music to listen to each night. Tears are just streaming while listening to the old albums we used to listen to. With the headphones connected directly to it, it is very different experience. I feel taken back in time. It's very comforting. I think I found my celebration ❣️ I hope to do it more often than my birthday.

I weigh myself three or four times a week. I am still struggling with aversions to some foods since my stroke and a tendancy towards being a bit too lean to begin with. To make matters worse, I have inherited diabetes 2 and high cholesterol and those can make gaining weight a challenge. High blood pressure, too. I eat several times a day, trying to focus on calorie dense foods that aren’t loaded with beef or pork fat, sodium, and/or sugar. Luckily, I still truly love my daily green drinks, which are loaded with full fat Greek yogurt, protein powder, nuts and seeds, and a wide assortment of fruits and veggies. The scale is an important tool for my continuing struggle towards good health and my recovery.
