Help -- white grout turning yellow
Comments (41)Tub and tiles reglazed and SEALED and within 5 months, the grout on 1/4 of the walls, turns yellow every day. I have 9 levels fused in my spine, so I physically cannot toothbrush this problem anymore. I had it professionally reglazed so I would not have to use a toothbrush anymore. I think its the towns awful water. It ruined our toilet to the point we had to replace it. It looked like I NEVER cleaned it ever. The plumber said he has "special talets" to get rid of it, but you have to leave the house for a full day, due to fumes. Funny we get a water bill when we have to lug jugs to the spring, for drinking water in Manchester, CT. The "reglazer" is coming back to re-seal but I do not see how that will be helpful. Grout has fallen off and he plans to just re-seal over it, without regrouting. Guaranteed for 15 years and this is his "fix"? Would a dark grey grout hide the yellow?...See Moregrout for blue/green glass mosaic tiles?
Comments (2)that's very similar to the tile we used in a bathroom. We did go with white grout -- here are a couple of pics so that you can at least visualize it with white. I bought some kind of special grout that i had read about on the bath forum for mosaic tile. It was several months (and a whole kitchen!) ago, so the type/name escapes me, but I will look at home or ask DH and post again if i can remember it....See MoreHelp select grout color for river rock shower floor
Comments (36)We chose the Dusty Gray epoxy grout. I think the Raven would have looked great as well, but we decided to play it safe since I had heard from several designers in my area to not use the darker color. We still haven't hung the handheld on the wall (should've had them drill the holes in the tile for the mount at the time). I did purchase a bronze drain cover with fish pattern, but I need to round the corners to make it sit flush. Aside from our contractor bailing on us before the job was completed, we are fairly happy with how it all turned out....See MoreHELP .. turn this yellow & green house into something beautiful please
Comments (45)if the boards are rotten, you're allowed to replace them. you could have dry rot. the historic section does allow damaged wood to be replaced. and if you have new ones cut almost the same, it shouldn't be an issue. But, no big deal. I think if you match it to the stucco color it will look way better. I like your front door. before painting it the new color, take a sander to it and try and get off a good portion of the white paint. start w/a 60 or 80 grit, work up to 220, if you can. it will look better if you start w/a somewhat smoother surface. If that's the original brass hardware, you can boil it in hot water to loosen the grime, and then use a metal polish on it to remove the tarnish. is the screen staying?...See Moreraehelen
