Comments (3)I own a BlueStar and I can say this....there is not a better broiler in the market. The BlueStar broiler (1,800 degree) will cook a steak (1 1/2" thick) in about 10-12 minutes (medium rare). Besides the burners, this is the second best feature on a BlueStar. If you have ever been to a Ruth Chris steakhouse, they cook their steaks ubder a 1800 degree salamander broiler. This is almost exactly what is in a BlueStar. I'm not going to knock Dacor, but the two are in a different class. We are the Ford Truck with 8 cyl and 400hp, and they are the Ford Ranger at 4 cyl and 275hp.....get it? Good luck!!!...See MoreNeed 48' Range-Reviews of GE Monogram, American, BlueStar, Wolf?
Comments (23)I purchased a wolf dual fuel 48" 9 months ago and after several service calls, Wolf did a buy back on the range. It was kind of strange, I would have been ok with another range but they did not want to switch it out. They were very nice, tried to service it but never really looks at the internals, instead would send a chef out here to cook in it and troubleshoot it. My issue was mainly the convection. Cook on one rack, no issues, cook on all of them like cookies and extremely uneven cooking from top to bottom and back to front. Not satisfied. Hated the lack of rolling racks, I find the racks hard to pull out. Had the double griddle. Fantastic to cook on but the grease catcher does not catch grease, instead it fills up, overflows underneath and makes quite the mess, even when the catcher is not full....they even mentioned that it is a design flaw. The actual service help after was good in most respects, would I buy another wolf? maybe some day, but not that range for sure. Also, took forever to heat up and boiling a pot of water took too long for such a beautiful unit. I am now purchasing a capital culinarian...hoping for much better results........See MoreNeed help choosing professional 30" gas range
Comments (2)American Range Performer Series ARROB430L is $2,999 with free shipping at link below. Most places it is $3299. It is a high performance liquid propane open burner model. There are plenty of threads discussing open vs sealed burners and discussing AR Performer Series. In summary, this is the highest performing 30" LP range for under $3k. Comments (38)Hi Jora, I saw the Techno S the other day in a showroom, I have zero regrets about buying the BS instead. Having said that, I was pitting the RCS closed burner model against it. If you are looking at BS, the only real option is the open burner models. I'm an avid cook, and I can't imaging anything else. Cleaning the cast iron is a little work, but everything comes apart. After awhile, you'll get to a point that you can literally just wipe it down (I'm there now). My only complaint is with the oven racks. I wish I would have bought the sliding top rack. The rack that it comes with is not very easy to maneuver when stuff is on there (since its so wide). I'm planning on purchasing that in the near future. Everything else has been great....See MoreGoldengoose7
