Did you look at Vintage Tub? I think Strom Plumbing makes a cast iron pedestal tub, and I KNOW their fixtures are GREAT, but have not experience with their tubs. We installed the Mendota a couple of years ago in a bathroom where size was an issue. I knew I wanted cast iron and at first I looked at the Villager but the water level issue concerned me. I was worried about buying the Mendota because none of the local showrooms had one I could try out. We ordered it unseen and untested and the day it was to be installed I made the plumber take it out of the crate so I could lie in it first to make sure it was going to work (his son thought I was nuts). I'm very pleased with it. It's deep enough for me and has a comfortably angled back. It's not a fancy tub but I'm happy with it (and the price was right).

I can't blame you for not using marble flooring, with all the concerns I've seen on this site, I went with all porcelain in my second bathroom, floor and shower walls. I wanted to do another soapstone sink and integrate it into a marble counter. It would have worked I think, but the SS remnant I had ended up not looking good with the marble. So I have an incomplete sink in our shop, that I need to finish. I might put it in the basement as a utility sink, or give it to my sister if she wants to remodel. I haven't given it much thought lately though. Regarding marble counter. I did do a marble counter in my second bathroom and used a Kohler under mounted sink called Verticyl. There are several shapes, and contemporary. here is an image, I have liked it. The marble is so pretty. The vanity is walnut in a frameless cabinet. It is hard to see in this pic. I don't think the Highbridge is offered anymore without the enameled apron although they still may be in stock with a number of suppliers. The apron covers only the middle part of the front, so you have to custom build something to cover the front at each end (storage or tile) or cover the whole front with a tiled apron. Its essentially styled like a drop in tub but built as an alcove tub with flanges. This tub will offer the deepest bathing. The Mendota differs from the Bellwether also in that the Bellwether has a flattish rim around the top that you can set down things at least temporarily, but the Mendota has a thin and beveled rim, which probably makes the interior a bit wider, but I don't think you could put a shampoo bottle down or sit on the edge of this tub comfortably. The other option is the Kohler Dynametric. I just bought the Bellwether 30x60 without the angled front but it is not installed yet.
