Help/marble vanity top thickness/backsplash
Comments (7)It shouldn't be a problem, given your sink dimensions. Another alternative would be using Cararra marble tiles for a backsplash, or a mosaic of Cararra and another stone. And the "You'd want them to be from the same slab" line really translates into "We don't want to bother". For some stones, like Costa Esmaralda, then sure -- the differences between slabs can be that great, and it's a less-common stone. But for Cararra?...See MoreWhat color tile floors with carrera marble vanity top?
Comments (7)I am going with a similar look and am doing a carrara & nero marble basketweave faux rug for the floor. I will probably have darker bardiglio tiles around the edges of the room and there will be a cararra twisted rope border (and nero liner tiles on each side of the rope) to delineate the "rug". This way, the pattern does not overwhelm the room and it is a very pretty look in and of itself. I wish I had a mock up of it because even dh has not seen what I chose (other than the basketweave middle), lol. Oh... and am using dark gray grout because white would be just plain suicidal in our house. Maybe Bill V has done similar and has a pic?...See MoreHELP Subway tile shower, marble hex floor but what for shower floor?
Comments (2)hello Jillianfl. Top photo is the one I used to remodle my last bathroom. I loved it and got lots of compliments on it. I'm now renovating a new home, and I have the same concerns about the shower flooring. Did you end up getting some advice? What did you end up going with? Thanks in advance!...See MoreHELP! Comments (6)@jhmarie yes I may have to go that way, though all the ones I've seen haven't been that great (looking for mostly white not too much or too dark veining) if anyone has any good ones let me know, but I think you are supposed to have small tile in shower itself for traction/ non slip? So wondering what would best go.. @SabrinaAlfinInteriors I read many houzz threads about incorrect installs and water retention of the marble causing floor damage such as this thread with many pro comments saying it's a widespread problem... From the installers POV while it looks nice, it shouldn't be installed for wet floor use unless a specific underfloor drainage system is purchased specifically for it (which I know wouldn't be the case with my sub's install I already know standard mud pan was ordered) but here's some of those threads for reference https://www.houzz.com/discussions/carrara-hex-tiles-on-shower-floor-wont-dry-out-dsvw-vd~3124883 and https://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/3086267/carrera-shower-floor-with-several-gray-areas-now-what?n=21...See Moreimlebby
