Hello! - It was hard to read here

Hello everyone,

My husband and I have decided we need some kind of internet at home. We do so much bill paying and banking on-line and are SO busy we agreed to go with an inexpensive connection. I wanted to check on everyone.

I have to admit, it was very difficult to read most of your posts. John and I have really made strides in moving on from caregiving. We feel our lives are returning to normal and have been able to embrace life again. To read and then remember what you all are going through is difficult. It certainly took me back.

You are all doing an indescribable job. You all deserve so much. People who have never done this really do not understand. My heart goes out to you all and you remain in my prayers. You deserve to hear every day of your life, many times a day that you are wonderful, self-less people. Perhaps that's my role here now - to stop by and make sure you all "hear" the appreciation you deserve. God Bless you all.

I agree....and it is so appreciated Tina, to know others understand, no one knows unless they do it daily, year after year, but one thing we can all say that have done it or are doing it, is that ,we provide ,love care, and most important....ourselves to loved ones until they pass on. Thank you Tina....for the kind words...my MIL paases on Feb 8th....but I never regreted the care...now that I look back. I didn't want it, however, but God seen me through it to the end, what a wonderful caring individual he is ....Gabby

I take soy isoflavones twice a day - no night sweats - a few mild hot flashes, no problems with dryness - my skin is fine, now and then I get hot flashes - usually when nervous or stressed - never been on HRT's....really never considered it. I know many women suffer much more than I do...I do have problems sleeping, but always have and I rest when I need to....really menopause has not made a huge impact on my life - maybe a little dent once in a while but that is all. I do not want to be on any medication of any kind unless I absolutely have to....I had a bone scan earlier this year and I have no sign of or projections for osteoporosis. I'll just keep taking the soy - I'm 55 and have been in menopause for 5 years.

I picked up a book from "New Arrivals" shelf titled Palace Circle by Rebecca Dean (I confess because I liked the cover and the setting --pre WWI) and it is rather awful. One-dimensional characters and plots that seem inspired by daytime soaps. I stopped reading around half-way. On a happier note I discovered a new (to me) historical author: Jude Morgan. Very impressed with her writing and comand of the period. Just read Indiscretion and An Accomplished Woman which are both obviously Austen-inspired, and I'm starting on Passion, which seems like a "heavier" book, the main characters being the women in Byron, Shelley, & Keats' lives.

A couple of us have been working on changing the new site appearance with a browser add-on called "Stylish", until Houzz makes some changes. We've been talking about it in the threads linked below. I don't want to repeat it all here. But, I am trying to at least mention it in threads where people are discussing visual difficulties with the new site design. I would hate to see people leave the forums due to it. Dan the print was 3 times smaller than normal. It has corrected itself now. Thaks to the others for the advice to correct it. If it happens again I will know what to do.

Hello Tina, So good to see your post. Good to hear that things are going well for you and family. How are your sweet boys??? Bless you for your kind words....you most certainly know about this caregiving journey...are things going well with John,you and his family? You had to go thur some really stressful times with his sister...can't help but remember the Christmas present of the blouse with all the buttons....we have to forget and forgive...you always inspired me Lady.
