Are you looking for brand suggestions for in-wall speakers, or more along the lines of "what kind of equipment do I need and where should I place it?"

My question is "How can I add quality audio to a wet area that will be both safe and code compliant?" It would need to be low-voltage and/or remote-controlled to meet this criteria. I found one manufacturer called "KB Sound" that seems to provide this, but I don't know much about them. I thought about installing one of those recessed waterproof televisions at the foot of the tub, but I just don't think we'd use it enough to justify the cost. However, our satellite provider does have music channels, so that is an option that would provide what I want, if I could do it affordably.

Check out marine speakers. Many larger sailboats (I don't know about powerboats) come with cockpit speakers these days. These are obviously water resistant (proof?) since they can take a wave head on.

You can search for marine speakers, or just check some of the larger marine retailers including West Marine and maybe Defender.

To get this in my bathroom I chose to have one speaker mounted in the ceiling, then speaker cable runs through the attic in to the receiver in our living room. I don't have a remote control but I can load CDs to the 5-cd carousel. To choose the speaker I got I went to a audio/stereo store and asked what I needed to make this happen. We also have an option on the receiver to use an input cable from an MP3 player/smartphone and we use Pandora to stream music this way. I suggest you visit a stereo store to ask for advice too since folks who work in those stores know what's available. This link on Amazon is the brand they suggested (Polk RCI series) and I see Amazon has them both as pairs and as single speakers. We have two in the kitchen ceiling and one in the bathroom ceiling.
