The Bosch Dishwasher that leaked...question please.
Comments (4)That is what my heart says, "buy a new one," but my thrifty self hates to throw it away. In the big big big picture (two floor addition remodel), the money for a new DW is small. Thanks. I will buy a new KA....See Morebrand new bosch dishwasher leaking into pan-base
Comments (4)What does your dealer have to say about it ? That's who would "take it back" or facilitate Bosch doing so. Bosch is not likely to take it back with you calling them. They will send out technicians til they think it's fixed or the warranty period expires. It'll be interesting to see what the prob is, since every unit is pressurized and run in the factory to check for leaks prior to shipping. And, it'd be a rare case for something to work loose to cause a leak. I'd guess your package was mis handled along the way. Comments (3)We adjusted the feet as short as possible, but the opening was still 1/8" too low. A plumber came this morning and pulled off the connection and replaced the teflon tape with pipe dope. He must have been having a bad day, because he not only told me I shouldn't have bought a Bosch dishwasher (I chose it because it has shorter dimensions than the others I checked), but also told me that Moen products (my kitchen faucet) are junk and that he wouldn't have a hot water dispenser, because his wife scalded her hands having mistaken one for a soap dispenser. I was afraid he might tear the door off the dishwasher trying to pull it out of the cabinet and then using it to pry the unit up to gain access to the joint. He scratched the door and charged me $85 for the job. We saved maybe $15 trying to do the installation ourselves. Comments (13)Well I am happy I got a new dishwasher! They gave us a $1600 allowance for a new one! More than I expected. They have been real cordial and I have not had any issues. The last thing the gal said was get me your estimates on the floor and we will see what we can do. They asked for 2 estimates. When they replaced the dishwasher today I took more pics. There was also damage to the side of the cabinet. The defect was in the drum of the dishwasher where it was supposed to be flush it wasn't on the right side, it was pulled away. This was behind the rubber door gasket, so not to be seen until you replace the gasket. There was also water and/or steam damage on the other cabinet on the other side as well. After 4 service calls and a new dishwasher, I think our $150 purchase of the warranty was totally worth it! I think we are going to decide on the darker tile. So now the question is when can you get it done?...See More- 13 years ago
