Need help finding Jumbo soft curlers/rollers.

Hi. I've been searching everywhere and need some help.

I want to have big soft curls. I've been looking everywhere online and in town and can't find curlers that fit the bill.

I'm looking for about 2" diameter and something soft that you can sleep in or something that applied to wet hair will dry quickly.

My hair has a REALLY hard time holding curls and only seems to hold them when dried in curlers.

Does anyone know where I can get some?

Have you tried Sally's Beauty supply. They have soft rollers you can sleep in but I don't remember how large they go. If not Sally's in your area, maybe a beauty supply store might have them.

Ponder I am curious about what you said The rule of thumb for curlers. If you go around the hair more than 11/2 times it will reverse direction and do it's own thing when you let it out. Do you mean not to turn the curling iron more then 1 and half times?? I think thats what you are saying but I've never had that trouble controling it. If I want to curl your hair under I face the clip one way and if I want to curl it out it faces the other way. I'm not trying to be rude in anyway, I hope you don't take it that way! Just curious. I usually use big hot rollers for body and then let it cool and then finish up with a curling iron to help it go in the direction I want it. Then after that round cools I go to it with my round brush. I find this way last a lot longer then blowing it out with the round brush. Atleast for my hair! I love my ceramic curling iron! It heats up so fast and so even!

Mrs Dirk I agree w/fly - I don't see roller shades with our without valance for your particular application - it seems it would be taking away from the formal lovely room btw can't wait to see more of that LR looks lovely - I had similiar dilema - I just put up solid cream colored drapery panels in our LR - my windows aren't as large. I love the old windows & trim - but the room/windows needed some softening - the panels take up minimal glass so really don't obstruct view - I really do like the outcome - just what I wanted & what the windows needed. I am considering putting up internal mounted flat fabric romans - as I need something to keep the hot summer sun out. Good luck

This is how it looked about 4 years ago but last year we took down the 4 x 6s and put those columns that are not real wood in their stead, because wood will rot at the base on concrete and ours was beginning to do that after a few years, so we replaced them with columns, and I cannot find a picture of that, but I will try to do that later. You can kind of get the idea here, however. Actually there are 4 columns. I think they are placed very 8 feet as the porch is about 23 feet long. So just imagine about 8 more feet and instead of 4 x 6's, columns that are painted white and look like wood but are not. They are something we got an architectural supply place. This white lawn chair showing (that looks like it is in the flower bed, is not, but is in another covered area) which is about 15 feet away but I was the photographer here and I am not very good at it and sometimes objects in my DR show up in my bedroom pictures. (LOL).

roco, thank you. I did see it was from a low vision place. I guess the pic with the lamp shade is what threw me into thinking somehow this thing was/could be a "real" lamp. :) Thanks! soccermom, yeah, I definitely think I can rig something up by attaching something to the base. I do think I will do research on options, but wait to see just how much light the UC's give me and see if I feel I can live with that. Thanks again all, I really do appreciate the help. :)

Do you mean the kind that are made of a spongy material? I found some on ebay.

Have you tried the Carusu Molecular Hairsetter? I have super straight hair that won't hold a curl using hot rollers or a curling iron but it curls like crazy with the Caruso. It uses those spongy rollers and steam with dry hair and the curl is amazing.

I work to get the curl OUT of my hair!!! Can't you ladies be happy with nice straight, smooth hair? LOL!!

I would try beauty supply, I sleep in smooth plastic rollers, once you get used to it it's not so bad. Key to sleeping in rollers is how you secure them. I use a wave net tied tight with a satin slumber cap over it. I used scarfs for doing gardening or errands, but they do work as well as slumber caps for holding a set while sleeping
