Yesterday. The place I usually go just reopened a couple of days ago. They used to accept walk-ins, but are now appointments only. I had an appointment for 1:30 and I showed up 10 minutes early, and waited outside after checking in. Everyone in the store was wearing a mask. The stylist was running late, finishing the previous customer, she came out and said that both I and another customer who was waiting there had been scheduled for the same time. I allowed him to go first and went to shop for shoes which I was planning on doing after the haircut. I returned after that just as that man was paying. I was ushered to the seat, and sat there about 10 more minutes because something was wrong with the computer/register. The stylist finally started, and she was mostly using clippers rather than scissors. At times while she was proceeding I had doubts because it seemed she was cutting it shorter than I had asked, but I was happy at least that it was no longer going to flop in my eyes or blow around in the wind making me look like Einstein. The end result is quite a bit shorter than I usually get, but I like the way it looks, and really like the way it feels, and this way if everything has to close again, I'll be fine for longer.

Lars, that kind of looks like a chameleon. We got two of them at the circus when I was a kid. So cool to watch them change colors depending on what they were sitting on. They eventually escaped into the house, never to be seen again. :)

I am really loving the inspiration photos! Please keep 'em coming if you have any more to share. (And Funky, thank you so very much for your sweet words!) I wish I had curly hair and could pull off a cute, tousled short cut. My hair does have a good deal of wave and if cut right, I can get it to "almost" curl -- more like beachy waves that you get when you're actually AT the beach and have sand in your hair and you're sweating profusely. ;-) I took this photo just now, so here's what I'm currently working with. I have been getting my hair cut at an honest-to-goodness barber shop and have liked what the stylist/barber there did -- although I'm just tired of being so short. This is after about 6 weeks of growth (and my hair grows fairly quickly), so you can imagine what a peeled onion I looked like right after my last cut. Also, it's disgustingly gross and humid today, so I have the frizzies for sure. I'm considering going back to this length -- don't think I would want it any longer than this -- which is how I wore it a couple of years ago. I will want more of a fringey-bang up front, though, as this really long front bang makes me look like a have a fivehead (instead of a forehead). However, if I could find a happy compromise between my current style and this "longer" style, I may be happy there too. It's just a matter of figuring out what I want. I'm also wondering if I'll really be able to stand the hair back around my face like this. While good in concept, the reality may be that I'm too old and cranky at this point to deal with it.

New floof to have running in the background: With Love, Meghan. I watched the first episode, it was a nice antidote to what I had watched immediately before. It is calm, measured, staged, kind, and fresh-looking. Some things I found hard to fathom, like making candles and baking and decorating cakes while dressed in white with poofy sleeves and dangly bracelets, but it’s all part of the look of the show. I think my mom would have enjoyed watching it (over Property Brothers, where she was greatly disturbed by ”demolition day”). Unlike some shows, I never got the impression that this show was suggesting that I, too, could do these things and why aren’t I? It was just sweet. okay, bland, kind of like fresh whipped cream without sugar. At least the first episode was.
