Hate to ask. Can you tell me how to prune?
Comments (26)Hi Sherry, We are under construction and the house is almost totally "dried in". I had some trouble deciding on a few window placements, but we were able to support the structure until we worked it out. Today we placed our window order, and they will arrive in about 3 weeks. I think we're realistically looking at about May before we can move in. We're doing tongue and groove cypress inside rather than sheetrock, so that is going to add to the timeframe. I am also very good with wood, and very fussy, so I will be doing the finishing work on it myself. I might have mentioned before that we are building the old Florida Cracker style house with a full wrap around porch, and log siding. I love it and it is becoming everything we envisioned. I am starting to picture roses and trellises around it. I can't wait to get my hands dirty in the soil again!!!! Things have taken longer than we expected, but it took a long time to design things out and get it the way we want. My husband spent a few months engineering the structure out, and then there is the permit process, etc. I have great plans for gardens, but they have been on hold for the time being. I just couldn't design a house and work on building it and break new garden ground at the same time. I do have a few roses planted and they are doing well. The greatest joy about these old teas is that they are so beautiful despite total neglect. The potted ones have been sorely negelcted and I will be lucky to have more than a handful come out of it O.K. Your Le Vesuve is gorgeous. I wouldn't do a whole lot to him (or her). I think if you just do a little cleaning up and nothing drastic you'll have armloads of blooms this year. I can see some chickens running around in my future too. The locals tell me they are wonderful bug eaters. Sandy...See MoreCan I break my lease due to false advertising?
Comments (5)I doubt you could break your lease for them calling it "quiet" but maybe. If you were going to pursue that you should probably consult with a lawyer and check up on the local housing rules (especially those that allow for "quiet enjoyment") that apply to you. I'd be afraid the judge would point out that you should have checked to see where the complex was situated before entering into a legal contract to live there. It's probably easier to just move when the lease is up. Also - this is probably not the sort of thing you want to hear, but you can get used to living in that sort of location. It sounded like you were describing my complex. The building i live in is right next to a busy rail line (in fact there is a switching station right on the other side of the parking lot which means traincars banging into each other among other loud noises and vibrations). In addition, our complex is under one of the approaches used to get to Tampa International a few blocks away. Low flying planes are very noisy, and the air corridor above us is high traffic. You do have to occasionally pause a conversation or program when it's especially noisy, but for the most part it fades into the background after you live with it for awhile. And as noises go, i'd much rather have this type of impersonal, environmental noise than the sort of noise i've always had before from other people's bass, arguments, banging, stomping etc that always bleeds through from other apartments. Of course, the neighbors here aren't any quieter than my old neighbors, but the airport and train traffic mean that there is a lot of white noise to disguise the neighbor noise. And the well landscaped grounds really do make me feel good. Maybe if you give it a chance you might find it's not so bad. :p...See MoreCan you tell me where they went and how they got there

What can you tell me about it?
Comments (44)Thank you for all the comments, I still love hearing from everyone and their opinions. I still am changing my mind everyday about that sink, it’s very useful... as far as everyones comments of it not being big enough (how big are your sinks?!... haha) btw the middle sink isn’t for washing, it is food disposal :) I use the left sink for washing and the right sink for rinsing. I do have some good news I just discovered 10 minutes ago (seriously)...it looks like the upper cabinets are original! Which makes me so happy because they are my favorite! Woohoo,... the doors are newer, I’m guessing to match the newer bottom cabinets. How easy is is it to move the dishwasher over to make room for this sink/or future vintage sink? It bothers me that it’s off center. And since the bottoms aren’t original so I don't mind moving things around. Thank you again to everyone so far !...See Morejgs7691
