Comments (8)I picked up 3 bottles of it and they all have the same thickness. I am wondering if that certain color came from a bad batch? I don't ever leave mine opened so I know that can't be it. I have cats and I worry about them knocking it over. Groominggal does your polish have the same consistency as other polishes? Thanks...See MoreFingernails after acryllic is removed
Comments (9)Thanks for the good ideas. I think I'll start with Sally Hansen's strengthener in the gold bottle. I got my nails done because my nails start splitting or peeling after they get so long. I love having pretty nails but the cost is such a waste! If I could do it myself (have never tried) I'd do them every week or when needed. Sometimes my nails really looked weird when it got closer to the fill appt two weeks after the last fill. I found a Tweezerman buffer - got it at Bed Bath and Beyond with their 20% off coupon - and gently buffed my nails. They are quite shiny right now but I think the Sally Hansen will help. I also think I have the 7-Day nail grower stuff - or maybe it is up in my daughter's room. Thanks for all of the suggestions! One last question...where do you all buy OPI nail polish? I found a color I really like but when I wanted to buy it at my salon they didn't have any....See Morethin fingernails
Comments (1)My guess is you are not lacking vitamins, its another symptom of menopause with the splitting nails. More likely your estrogen and progesterone levels are the culprit (and calcium, etc.) They affect everything. Your manicures seem to work, so discuss this with the manicurist and quite possibly she will give you some excellent tips on how to maintain them yourself, such as a polish strenghtening choice, etc....See MoreReasonable fix for soundproofing paper thin walls?
Comments (13)Type X drywall is, by definition, drywall that provides a 1-hour fire resistance rating when one layer is applied to each side of wall studs. As it happens, that turns out to be 5/8" drywall that has internal fibers that prevent the drywall from collapsing when the required hose stream test is conducted after a one-hour exposure to fire in the required test. Unfortunately, Type X has no greater sound resistance than any other kind of 5/8" drywall. For better results use one layer of drywall on one side and two layers on the other whatever the thickness of the individual panels. As I have already mentioned, sound transmission through walls is commonly misunderstood by homeowners and the internet is full of information from manufacturers that think only their product is effective. The fact is that most sound passes through walls through cracks, openings, and adjacent spaces above, below and to one side of what appears to be a solid wall therefore adding more drywall is only helpful if you have addressed these issues as well. An acoustic engineer will tell you that sound abatement techniques often do not show the expected results in field tests because the way the wall is built is so often more important than what it is made of. Walls are never "paper thin"; if they seem to be that way it is always due to sound leaks....See Moreweed30 St. Louis
