I have been doing a lot of research and this forum has really helped. We think at this point, we are going with the GE Profile. It looks great but I, too, would like to hear if anyone has any experience with it.

We think we can recess a regular sized FD but I would be interested if that is better to have a reg. size and things get lost back there? Or a counter depth?

I have a CD FD SS GE Profile for about 15 mos now. Although it has ice (not in door)I've never hooked it up. I like it very much and, for once, I'm not digging in the back of the frig trying to find things. I don't find it hard to keep clean at all--of course, there's just the 2 of us, so no kids at the frig all the time. As for cleaning it, I use Guardsman SS spray, which is terrific. The only drawback, I find, is that the produce drawers could be bigger.

I bought all Maytag appliances when we redid our kitchen. I have been very pleased with all of them. I bought a big bottom freezer drawer and love it. I think it is the nicest one I have ever bought. It is surprising how much it holds. The frig is really big and I like the size of the 3 drawers, too. The top drawer has a space under it the fits a 9 X 13 pan just perfectly.. Susie

If you are considering Subzero, you should look at the Thermador its cousin Bosch. The other brands are not necessarily anywhere near that price category.

Kitchenaid is generally the top of the Whirlpool line, although they sometimes make others. I'm not sure what they are making now, but at the time we were looking, I think they were making some of the Kenmore models and the Thermador built-ins that are not part of the Freedom series.

We were planning on going with a KA. After we ordered our cabinets, we switched to a Thermador Freedoms Series and love it. Not for every space and budget, but they get my top marks.

I didn't like the GE we looked at because of its use of space and things like not being able to open the drawers unless the door was opened past 90 degrees.

The Samsung I have looked at is planning for eventual replacement of our utility room fridge and was a more basic model. I'm not sure if we will go that route since the door shelves cannot be adjusted. Anyway, they came on to the fridge market in the US about 3 years ago from ehat I remember. That should be long enough to tell you if they are making a decent product, but it won't tell you about how long a life it should have.
