Yes Cathy, that was at the H Mart in Aurora. I have also had help in picking a variety of guava, that I hadn't seen before, from an Indian couple at that market, and an interesting conversation with a young Korean man and his Grandmother when they asked what I was going to do with a bag of very tiny dried fish that I was holding. I can't remember how they used them but I was buying them on the advise of Gina W to use as training treats for our dog (who absolutely loved them). Some of my favorite utensils, in addition to the bamboo ones, have come from Asian markets. I have a simple and wonderful fish scaler from Marukai, the Hawaiian owned, but multicultural Asian, market chain in Southern California. I also have a three section Chinese steamer from Marukai and I got my first silicone brush there several years before they made a mainstream market presence in the US. I wonder if the definition (antique vs. vintage) is different for furniture as opposed to other things like the glasses? Not that it mattersÂas IÂm not selling any of it! I was carefully washing MomÂs crystal last night after everyone went to bed. DH had offered to help me after dinner. But yesterday morning I had gone to check itÂs value online and found those glasses were pretty pricey at Replacements! Fortunately I remembered the name of both the china and the crystalÂa miracle, really. I figured if I broke one myself I could only be mad at me. I plan to print out what I have found on these and the china and keep it in a folder in the cabinet. IÂm glad Mom had the forethought to give these to me about 2 years before she died in 1996. She and my Dad just showed up at my house one day with boxes, minimally labeled. I had no china cabinet then and toddlers running around. (Two toddlers who threw furniture, I might add in my defense. Not like docile little me at that age.) I cleared off a shelf in the basement and thatÂs where they stayed for 12 years. Now I wish I hadnÂt waited so long to display them. I was keeping them "safe" I guess: then time got away from me. Casualty of being self employed (overwork) and raising kids. Meanwhile my kids have no memory of these lovely things the way I do: Mom and Dad always used their china and crystal whenever they had guests. They both had large families so that was often. I remember washing these same glasses many times for family parties. Now they are all gone. My cousins are all disbursed in many states and few even have children. Gosh, IÂm getting maudlin. Warning to meÂuse it, appreciate it. Enjoy what you have. DonÂt keep beauty in the basement.

Anthony Johnson So we ended up passing on the china cabinet we found the other day, mainly because as a result of this process we have now selected the type of table and rug we want, and that cabinet wouldn’t quite go with it. We’ll probably start with buying the table, then the rug, then a china cabinet. But whereas we were unconvinced about whether to get a china cabinet at all before posting this question, the discussion here has helped us decide that we’ll definitely get one. The Noritake Rhythem is similar to the Noritake Princeton that we got from my MIL. I also have Theodore Haviland NY Pink Spray from my grandmother, and a no-name Christmas china set purchased by my husband for me one Christmas. He has no idea about china, but he picked one that would go with my Christmas tablecloth. Your son and dil, might keep an eye on Ebay for extra pieces. Just read carefully and look at the rating of the seller. They will be much more reasonable than Replacement's.
