My LG FL and dryer are very quiet. Our laundry room is right behind the kitchen. We couldn't close the door because of a litter box, but now it doesn't matter. :-)

I highly recommend CHI hair dryers and flat irons. I have very long hair and have struggled to find good tools that don't fry my hair. I have a CHI Rocket Professional 1800W and the ceramic heater and low EMF keep my hair shiny and soft without frizzing or drying. My hair dries very fast compared to my old Conair or other previous brands. I have had a few eventually die on me after a few years, but they work so well that it's worth the investment for me. I use the hair dryer every day, sometimes multiple times a day when I lap swim. I only occasionally use a flat iron (usually when my hair is being unruly and I have a strong desire to tame it), but I've been really happy with my CHI ceramic flat iron. Seems very gentle on my hair and always looks shiny and styled when I use it.

If you don't use dryer sheets, do you use liquid softener? Dryer sheets are easier for me, and I've used them forever and so far so good. :) If they're repelling hair from our clothes you'd think I would have extra dog hair in the LR where they hang out, but there isn't any. I deduce they are being sucked from the dryer to the hose. lol I dunno, but I don't like seeing an empty lint basket. Using the dryer right now with a small load and lightweight. It's warm on top of the dryer like it should be (the cat loves sleeping there) but I think it's taking way too long. Want to hear what else happened? Last week the microwave stopped working. The dryer guy will be replacing the microwave. The electric H&A in the back of the house which warms the bedrooms is heating but not at full capacity. Temps in the hallway were 55 during last cold spell. Huge cold front coming on Wednesday so the guy better be here by then. Yesterday after DH loaded the backseat of his truck with a few hundred dollars of groceries, his newish truck would not start. DS came to the rescue to bring DH & groceries home. Truck in shop. So...no microwave, basically no dryer, no heat for the bedrooms, and no truck. Bet you can't top that!

I am another one that loves my Dyson. It's the quicker drying that was the biggest thing for me. I have medium length hair that used to take at least 20 min to blow dry. With my Dyson it takes about 10 min. That alone was worth the cost. Well, I admit I probably would never have bought it myself. DH bought it for me for Chanukah one year. Honestly, I was both thrilled (wanted to try it) and annoyed (spent too much $$). But one use and I was a convert. I actually just bought it for my daughter for her birthday. One particular color was $100 off from Dyson. That caused me to pull the trigger for her gift. Gave it to her last week while we were all on vacation at the beach. She liked it, but will need to get used to it. She's used to using one of those brush styling dryers. She did love that it dried her hair much faster. She's just out of practice of using a blow dryer and a brush in separate hands. The cord is very heavy, but I don't find using the dryer to be heavy (and I don't rest the cord on my vanity). In fact, I found it to feel lighter than my previous dryer. I am dying to try to new hair straight. But the price is stopping me. An influencer I follow (and trust their recommendations) that has similar hair to mine says it's life changing. Just cannot spend that much money. Yet. Hoping the price will come down eventually. I think it did on the dryer.
