What tub and shower head system did you choose?

I'm looking to buy both my shower and sink fixtures to match in brushed nickel. I am looking for a regular shower system preferably with a seperate shower head handle ( helps for washing the dog). I currently have a 3 handle shower system ( hot cold and shower ) Not sure if I should have it converted to one handle system with tub spout. I'd like to hear and see what choices you have made.

Got the Kohler Memoirs handheld showerhead (with slide bar) system. Decided we have no need for an additional, fixed shower head. My husband is much taller than me and it will nice for us to be able to adjust. (And for washing the dog and rinsing the tile after cleaning!) Got the matching tub spout.

We had a handheld with bar in a previous home and have missed it ever since.

No pic, as they are installing at this very moment!

Wow, thanks bumble doodle! Tt is great to know that the tub works well as a shower. We are tall too--at least most of us (two of my teenage daughters are twins and one is 5'2" and the other is 5'10", so maybe the short one complains a bit but that's ok, since she complains about everything!) We are getting the non-jetted version. Also, I am hoping that building the deck at the front will help with the water spray. I am pushing the tub back into an alcove under the window the long way (so we get into the tub at the 32" side rather than from the 48" side) and we are trying to go without shower doors in order to make the bath feel open. With a deck, we buy a few more inches of length to help avoid water on the floor. We may not succeed and will put a panel on if we have to. Any thoughts on this?

We were in a similar situation last week, I know what you are going through... Below are how we picked out our plumbing fixtures: We first called our contractor for a list of exact parts/items we needed including diameters, finishing, size (length, width and height)..etc. so that we would not leave out anything. The trustworthy plumber we have been using for the last 17 years told us that Delta has good products. So we focus on Delta and its sister brands such as Hansgrohe and Brizo (hope this is correct). We like brushed nickel, modern/contemporary styles that further scaled down the selections. After we found the sink/vanity faucet we liked, we picked matching shower and tub fixtures. Once we decided what we wanted, we sent the list to our contractor for confirmation, then we placed the orders. We ended with a Hansgrohe system that fit the design. Since you have time constraint, Amazon would be a good "one stop" shopping place with their fast delivery. I compared the quotes of a list of fixtures from local stores with Amazon's, the prices we got from the local shop were competitive, but Amazon's were more than $100 lower. The actual savings would be more when factoring in the free shipping, and tax. When online shopping, make sure to check return policy and associated restocking fees. Enjoying your shopping.

cwalen, we're in a converted industrial warehouse building with concrete floors, so we didn't have much choice --- we had to build the floor up a little so the drain (we used a linear drain, which needs less buildup than a regular drain) wouldn't stick up. Then we built a curb which is tiled. We have not done a door at all yet -- just a shower curtain. I like the curtain, it looks great and it's easy to clean. No leaking as long as the curtain is closed. I don't seem to have a decent picture on my computer, but if you need pix, I'd be happy to take some tonight.

It took me a year to choose a tub. I would choose one and then go back to look at it a second time, and not like it at all. I visited half a dozen show rooms, just to try out tubs, and then went back 2 or 3 times to try them all out again. I was accustomed to a cast iron tub, and all the acrylic tubs felt weird to me. So, I looked at composite tubs. I liked the Wetstyle tub (made in Canada), but the thin sides of the tub made if difficult for me to get in and out. I kept trying the Victory & Albert tubs from England, but none felt comfortable to me. And then one day I tried the Devon & Devon tub. I had walked past it a dozen times but never considered it. The model I tried was called the President, which was too big for my space. My designer steered me toward another model that was perfect. There was a four-month wait for delivery, which stretched to five months, until the store finally told me that the D&D tub had arrived at the warehouse damaged beyond repair. I resumed my bathtub hunt. I considered the T&L Oceanus tub and a tub by a Canadian company called Blu. I asked the store if they would sell me the D&D tub in the showroom, and they agreed.

Rufinorox, It looks like below pic except with a slide bar instead of the little fixed holder. I usually find and order things on the internet, but for this ended up at a Ferguson showroom. I would have been clueless about all the parts and pieces needed to put this together without their help. AND, I got to see it in person!! I never thought I'd go to a plumbing /fixture showroom but in this case it was well worth paying a bit more than the online price.

I went with the Moen Kingsley (Moentrol) in brushed nickel and one of Moen's hand held shower.

Prickly- was this a complete set or did you buy shower head separately? VDUBAUDI - I love your shower system. Did this come as a package or can you buy separately ?

It's been a while, but I'm fairly certain I bought everything separate. The valve was separate and then I chose a shower head and control and separately selected a tub filler and then a hand shower. I needed an extra long tub filler so mine doesn't look quite like that one. I bought at a local store.
