That will cause it to "grab" the color. I thought the Garnier Nutrisse colors were a permanent hair color...? If they are and you want to color monthly why not try temporary rinses? They will not be so damaging to your hair. It just scares me because I've seen women that color their hair so often that is breaks off and gets thin. Are you using any deep conditioners? I don't know why you are coloring but I hightlight mine myself to blend in my grey and it works-looks natural and I just touch up my root so my hair doesn't get damaged. I'll tell you just how to color your hair at home with a professional product and save money. First off, you need to know a little about color. Always buy a shade lighter than you see on the bottle. Okay, if you have gray, you have to buy Gray Magic, it comes in a tiny dispenser that allows you to add 3 or 4 drops to your color. This assures that your gray will be covered and not lift. Choose a permanent color as the temporary ones do NOT work well with gray. Purchase a bottle of cream developer 20% peroxide. I prefer Clairol to all other brands. I was an expert colorist so I made up my own formulas which work so much better than a solid color but you can choose one close to your own. Purchase an applicator bottle or a small bowl and applicator brush. Follow the directions for mixing. With Clairol permanent color it's equal parts color and peroxide plus the drops if you have gray. If you have trouble choosing a color I may be able to help you. The ten minute colors coat all of the hair and, unfortunately wear off much sooner than the box states. If you're coloring your hair for a touch up, apply color to roots only BUT, if the rest of your hair has faded, add water to the color and put it all over the hair for five minutes only. Shampoo. Try not to wash your hair for 30 hours, your color will last longer if it has time to oxydize. Hope this helps.

He's a physical and emotional abuser. If he's not willing to go to counseling with whom the person specializes in abusive relationships, it's time to jump ship. You are experiencing physical and emtional illness because of it. Been there, done that, life goes on. Get your own credit card, bank account etc... have a plan. He will likely cut you off (financially) as soon as he's put on the spot, so be prepared. Be sure that you are the one who files for divorce (if it comes to that) so you can file it in the court that most benefits your interest. Some (good) lawyers will do a flat rate divorce if your funds are limited, but it's best to make him pay the fees. You have a right to half of "his" business (it's not just his), he should buy you out or continue handing over some of the profit. It's likely to the outside world he seems like a great guy. Behind closed doors he's an ogre. If so, don't expect much sympathy from people who haven't seen his dark side, but that's okay. Hugs!

Thanks Kath, that pic was taken last summer in front of the one room country school house we used to attend in the early '60's. It has been moved to a historic site along with other country school houses. When we went inside it looked so small compared to how I remembered. We also went back to the farm where we were raised and were able to go inside the house (a neighbor's son bought it and let us go inside, no one is living there now) I wish I hadn't gone inside, it was a mess and again seemed so small..........and I'd been there (when the folks were still living in it) and I was an adult in the '80's.
