To answer your questions: 1) The overlay model will fit in a 15" space. There are no problems with the older 2015WCOL, just that the panel construction for your custom wood panel was a little more difficult then than now (there was more routing, etc.) 2) U-Line offers a couple different freestanding units that hold 48 bottles (the 1175WCS..this has a stainless door, and a black cabinet, and the 2175WCS, which has a stainless door and a stainless cabinet) As far as the comment about storage, all U-Line products (and, I can't speak for anyone else's) are designed for long-term storage of wine. Carmela39 The ice issue is not a problem if you intend to use the dispenser as you described. It is not convenient to just put your hand into the ice tray to "get a handfull", otherwise it operates like any other auto icemaker/dispenser. The cabinet vs full depth is an appearence issue if the grey side of the cabinet is unappealing to you. You will see a full 6 inches of the painted side and additionally the half inch or so of the door gasket and then the depth of the stainless door with the full depth Samsung refrigerator with 24 inch deep cabinets (standard). Recessing the rear wall as I have indicated is the option many have taken (I was unable to do this since I live in an attached townhouse and this was the attached wall). If your contractor suggests this will be difficult I would defer to him (the issue is more than making the wall a few inches narrower). Another thought for Kitchen Aid, we were looking at our local retailers at French Door refrigerators and they had several running. I was looking at the The Kitchen Aid model that has the water and ice maker dispenser in the door. When I went to open the freezer door… it was frozen over and you could barely pull the freezer out. It was a mess. That definitely changed my mind on the “water dispenser/ ice maker on the outside of the fridge in the refrigerator door. @M riz we’re the issues you had with the models with the water/ice maker in the door…. Or is the drainage problems with both designs (water dispenser in the door and ice maker in the freezer? We will have another freezer in the home. But what’s the use of having a refrigerator if it doesn’t function? Or pay the $$$ for water dispensers and ice makers only to have to disconnect those features? If a French Door is the style that I need… Why not just buy a French door without a water dispenser or an ice maker and just purchase an ice maker by itself? Do they even make one without ice makers and water dispenser?
