There is no OTR microwave that will work well with a dual fuel range. The CFM's are to low, usually 300-400 and there is no capture area. Over time, grease will discolor your walls and moisture will warp your cabinets, among other things.

That being said, I recommend a unit with a handle to open instead of a push button. Reason being, the heat from the range has been known to damage latches. Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid both have models with handles. The Kitchen Aid is 400 CFM and will work the best.

aprince, thanks for the advice. I know that a hood that is vented to the outside would work much better, but those are out of my price range. I had a duel fuel in my last house for five years with an over the range microwave and didn't encounter the problems you spoke of. I don't fry much at all though. Maybe an occaisional egg - with the lid on the skillet. And, moisture had no ill effects on the cabinetry which was certainly not top of the line. I was asking more about matching the stainless. Some are noticabley yellower and some are whitish. A bad match would bother me since they are so close and you look at both together.

See if a Kitchen Aid or Whirlpool will match. a saleperson for a store that sells both Electrolux and these lines should easily be able demonstrate

why not the matching electrolux OTR micro? we have the gas range and 30" OTR micro-beautiful.

Thanks stacy. It had the hidden controls so you have to kinda jump through hoops it seemed to do things instead of being able to just touch the number one for example. I might be fine with it but it was very different in that way that the panel you can read like I am used to. You don't mind that? It helps to know. Anyway I am now seriously considering the GE induction range. The prices are so similar and so I am trying to decide.

Ok I take back my earlier comment about the matching microwave. We have a lemon! 4 repairs. Electrolux is refusing to replace/refund us. Have filled a complaint with the BBB.

Do not purchase model EI30MF55(GS).

Also paid $650 for it in Dec'09 and now it retails for $350 . . .

I would really consider the GE induction range, or any induction range, especially with only an OTR for exaust.
Most users that have bought either an induction cooktop or an induction range have really been satisfied with their choice, regardless of brand. So I would get an induction range and an OTR that "Matches" , "To You" especially since you said both are seen together.
You just can't beat the speed (Alto Trevor is trying with his Culinarian) response, and ease of cleanup , with induction, plus you will be added less heat to the kitchen-alto not a good thing in winter?
After having them all. Electric coil, Electric radiant-(A very expensive and fancy one) and DCS very large burner cooktop in "Patio Kitchen", You just can't beat the "Combo benefits" I outline above!

I just purchased an Electrolux OTC microwave #EI30MH55GSA, the same one Stacy referred to as a lemon on July 9. I wish I had seen your posting because although mine is working fine the recirculating fan is not doing its job. I am getting excess moisture on the microwave when I use the front burners, and on the backsplash when I use the back ones. I have the induction dual fuel electrolux range and love it. I have been trying to find out if anyone has an OTC with a more powerful non vented (recirculating) fan. I might be able to return this one (to the store I bought it from)and buy a better one but I am not sure if any recirculating OTC microwave will work efficiently. I like the look and its performance otherwise. Stacy, the Electrolux customer service person told me they would replace mine after 3 functional failures and if deemed unrepairable. Is there anyway for this comment to be emailed to Stacy? Marc, you have probably already purchased your micro, but I have gotten used to the control panel on mine. At first I had to read the manual to defrost soup, etc. Now that the learning curve is over I'm ok with it!

We're trying to choose appliances for a small-ish new york city kitchen. We only have a standard space for fridge so we can't go with subzero, liebher.
How is GE Cafe? Bosch fridge? DCS stove and Fisher Paytel fridge?
