As a child I raised wild rabbits twice. Once when a baby rabbit was injured by a cat, and once when a mother rabbit was killed by a cat, there were five in that litter. We raised the rabbits under a vets instruction, teaching them to feed and care for themselves, and when the vet deemed them ready, they were all released in the woods at an animal sanctuary. They were about six months old when they were released. We never intended to keep them as pets, but we did raise them each for over five months and they were very healthy. I have also had domestic rabbits. My currant baby is a Britannia Pettit named Shaq. My main concern would be the other rabbits you have. You will want to call your vet and let her know what happened, she may want to check your other rabbits to be sure they are healthy. Did your vet ever see Spice? Did she have any idea what might have caused her death? Rabbits are very fragile and they do hide sickness so it is very hard to tell there is a problem, even domestic rabbits do this. I wish I could help more, but I would agree with anyone who suggested not feeding them corn, it is not really good for them. Pellets, hay, and greens are best with very limited treats. I hope your other bunnies are with you for many more years, they are such wonderful animals!

What I can't understand are the people who refuse to recycle! These bottles are perfect for recycling and get reused in a multitude of ways, yet time and again it's the same old insistance of throwing them in the landfill. I just don't understand that. I carry bottled water with me as I'm in my vehicle. I can't see any sense to paying $2 for a poorly mixed fountain drink at a restaurant or drive thru. I then have water to take aspirin or something and just quench my thirst. People think nothing of buying a can of pop for $1.25 but think it's awful to spend 10¢ on a bottle of water. It's fine to fill the landfills with pop cans and bottles but not water bottles. I must be missing something. When did WATER become such a villian? I agree that Dasani is not right. I won't buy it. Otherwise I'm not too fussy. There was a store that carried a brand called LeNature and often had cases of 20 oz bottles for $2 - $2.50 on sale. Besides being a good price it was about the best tasting that I found. But it's not around and when it is, it's out of my price range. I like Aquafina but that too isn't on sale very often. Menard's has a brand called Glacial Mist and I like that. And Walgreens has "Spring" water on sale that's good. Lately I've been drinking some pop that I have had sitting here and figured I might as well use, plus I'm starting to make some iced tea so my straight water consumption is down, except for in the vehicle, where I usually drink a bottle a day or more. I'll continue to buy it for the vehicle for convenience if nothing else. I know I wouldn't be cleaning the bottles properly to reuse them and I'd venture to guess few others do. I've always been a big water drinker. Long before it became fashionable I've wanted a glass of water with my meal. Even now I notice when I have coffee at a restaurant I still drink water too. I like water and I make no apology for it. Still a better option than those sugar-laden soft drinks so many are addicted to.

I would probly fill the back of the cap,for uniformity and so they wouldnt dent and for better adhesion. for waterproofness of a substrate cement board or wedi. even with humidity you will eventually have warping etc, but it will last a few years Id guess if you used marine plywood or something of that nature sealed well and brought in, kept in a covered area. You could also use some sort of board and skim coat it with concrete, then you wouldnt have to worry from what Ive been told, but there would be the weight issue. Make sure whatever you use has no flex to it, it must be sturdy or your grout will pop off. I have a collection of colorful bottlecaps to use oneday. here is a pic of a very cool bottle cap mosaic. I am not proud to say that I've eaten most of the leftovers all by myself :-( I've received several emails from guests thanking me for the event, so that's nice. The cook-ahead workflow was very helpful. As were all of your ideas and encouragement. Thanks everyone! Headed off on vacation tomorrow. Going to spend a week in a Tahoe lakeside cabin with some good friends. We have a physicist, an accordion player, a Chinese guy who cooks, a standup comedian, a person who does hair and makeup for TV, etc. SWMBO and I are driving down with four kayaks (two folding), a bicycle, and a coffeemaker. The plan is to lounge, cook, eat and paddle for a week. I'll get up early and work in the mornings as usual, I'm bringing two laptops and a monitor to set up my work area. Then I'll quit work before lunchtime. I remember we spent two weeks in an apartment in Paris one fall. There I worked from about 5 pm to midnight every day. That was kind of disruptive to vacationing. But a few hours of work each morning is no problem! Especially when the lake is just 40 feet away. If we cook anything cool, I'll post a pic.
