Chamomile is generally considered a very safe herb, but even 'safe herbs' are not good to take to excess or too frequently without the advice of a medical or herbal professional practioner. They are drugs, you know! And effects may be accumulative. Why not consider sprinkling some lavender oil on your pillow - it will relax and help you sleep and you don't swallow it. Further warnings about chamomile: Sufferers of allergies to daisies, ragweed asters or chrysanthemums should avoid using chamomile. In cases of fragile pregnancy, chamomile should be avoided as it will promote a delayed menses. It may cause stomach upsets in some people.

Lux, I also have Mlle. Jeanne Philippe, my only apricot, but it's still too early for me to really comment on it, as it is only about a year and a half old. So far, I like it very much. It's really graceful and pretty to look at even when it's not blooming, and last spring/summer/fall it really didn't bloom much. This year, however, it is starting out with enthusiasm - it's right outside my window as I sit at the computer, and I can count seven buds, one of which is starting to open. I'm glad to read in your post that it's a very floriferous rose (though I would keep it even if it were not). Can you tell me anything about how big it will get? Vintage described it as being small, which is what I need (all of my few roses are in pots and must remain so), but Vintage didn't sound entirely sure about ultimate size. Robert, Given your location, the lovely CarolFM's info on Duke of York is what you should follow. For me, DY/Papillon from Vintage is a quite small climber. Madame Charles is one of my supreme favorites and I would encourage you to try her. She is a lush and gorgeous frequent bloomer, and I have her stifled in a terracotta pot on my patio. Souvenir de Victor Hugo is a rose I want badly to succeed here, but I have my doubts. The plant was covered with powdery mildew earlier this year, and though the PM has retreated for the time being, I'm not sure the rose will do well with the few hours of sunshine he gets in the spot where I currently have him. He's gonna be a big guy, though, upright and maybe a bit leggy... It amazes me that you still have room for more roses :-) Good luck, ~ Alexis

The photos on HMF look EXACTLY like my rose, I even did a double-take thinking that I'd taken one of them. :D This is wonderful information to have, because I was going to prune it like a hybrid tea next spring!
